Side Bar: Do you guys tip the guys who dry up your car at the Car Wash? And if so, do you make a conscious effort to make sure they see you put the money into the tip box.

My Answer is Yes to both.

The way I think some restaurants or bars do it is they pool all the tips together then split it with waiters, bartenders, bouncers, etc.

if you sit down at a restaurant then you tip, it's American etiquette

how freaking hard is that to understand?

It amazes me how passionate and pissed people get about someone not tipping. How one chooses to spend their money is none of my business. Nobody has the right to dictate what one should do. Talk all this American shh, but where's the freedom of choice? People get judged and ridiculed for not tipping, mob mentality. Focus on yourself. By the way, I do tip.

Quick question...

To the guys that do tip, do y'all also show the tip? Like humble brag?

If I'm at a restaurant, I just put it in the check holder. If I'm at a bar, I just tell them to keep the change or give them some change back.

I'm glad tipping doesn't exist in my country. Such a strange principle to me.

You get paid for doing your job, why should I pay you any more on top of that?

I always tip generously in countries where tipping is a thing but I still think it's an odd gesture.

I tip my barber generously.

Being young and black, I expect decent to poor service from waiters. When its good I'll tip the proper amount.

The best thing these restaurant have done is having the percentage calculated on bill.

I always wondered this though, if you tip with your card. Does the waiter receive it or cool with it?

Also you guy tip for takeout at a sit-down restaurant?

tipping at sit down places is somewhat understandable, i just see it as the extra effort they have to put in vs if you just got takeout

but if a barber charges 20 dollars for a haircut and he literally only cuts my hair then im not giving him extra money for no reason

you can literally go through this thread and compile a list of NT's resident lame *** ******

dudes really not tipping. with no shame, eem in front of their girl

If you leave the tip on the card they'll get it but it'll get taxed (most places don't force you to claim cash tips).

I will tip 99% of the time, the amount just varies on the service. Take out I'll usually throw them a couple bucks for bagging up my food and getting to me in a timely manner.

Some of yall fail to understand that people who work for tips will remember the non-tippers more than the good tippers, and once you're on the non tip list you're service will probably be terrible from there on. Not to mention they're probably messing with your food in the back. I'd hate to see what some of you guys are actually eatting

I hope you get banned from every other place you go out to eat too since giving a few extra bucks is too much for you. Don't go out to eat if you don't wanna tip
