Why not Asian-American? :nerd:

Even Asian's don't say Asian American. You always get specific when talking about race. I half Chinese and Japanese and pretty much just say that. I would never say to a person I am Asian, unless you are just referencing that in a different context.

Yeah, the only time I generalize and say "Asian" is if I'm in a group with other non-Filipino Asians and I'm referring to the group.

Yoooooooo, what really irked me about those game shows is that the contestants ALWAYS cry before they get money from the host

Honestly, it's a way for the hosts to humiliate the contestants before they receive a prize. Plus, these people really don't care if they're humiliated because they're all desperate for that money.

It's kind of sad, IMO.

I'm also glad I didn't go to college in the PI to play basketball lol

I thought it was because they like to hear people tell their sob stories on tv. It was depressing as hell.

I hate the term "Fil-Am", maybe because i was born and raised in the Philippines, but i cringe every time i hear that word. Not saying i'm not considered one, but i hate that term,.

Those movies look real cheap because they are, these people churn out like 6 movies a year with the same people/"love teams" because people will watch them and bring in the ₽₽₽₽

Filipinos who identify as Pacific Islanders are posers, period.

People were talking about how bad the Filipino movie and tv industry is, so that had my mind thinking about other movie industries.

I told this story before on nt but its fitting that i tell it again.

Back in high school there was this Filipino chick who would always unprovokedly spew that Filipinos weren't asian and classified as Pacific Islanders. Well one day during her speech this Samoan chick overheard her and walked over and straight g checked her during lunch in front of everyone. Baby girl never uttered those two words ever again for the rest of her high school career.

Ha. I dunno why some Filipinos don't wanna be in the Asian group. Like saying Pacific Islander made them cooler. I picture them being the bopper kids from cali who would line up to buy the hundreds crap.

lol I remember I got into a debate with this Filipino guy at high school that he would be considered Asian in the census
He said that he's not Asian, rather Latino

Sorta makes sense I guess.

I get why many don't really consider themselves Asian.

Not to be racist or anything, but he doesn't look anywhere close to Latino

Filipinos and Hawaiian culture fascinate me. I know there is a big percentage of them living there but there is an almost equal amount of Japanese there, yet mostly the Filipinos are the ones that take Hawaiian culture so close to heart. A lot of my Filipino friends who were born here in the Bay Area go to Hawaii literally every year and no where else. Almost all of them have Polynesian tattoos and everything. Talk about die hard.
