I heard they can lead to major legal consequences. But for my first app when I was 18, I had to lie since I kept getting denied because of low income. I have never missed a payment and always pay on time. Will I get in trouble for this in the future?

Lol
You'll be fine, papa
Just don't over do it and say you making 90k when you really serving popcorn at Regal Cinemas
The reason they ask you is so they know what limit to give you. Someone making 75k may have reasonable use for a 10k limit. They not gonna give some grocery store shopping cart attendant a 10k limit..he'll spend that irresponsibly and be assed out within the first 2 months

Lol. Ok thanks I did get a limit of 5K but it was because I wanted to start building my credit. Got tired of being denied.

Yeah, you can lie, as they have no way of verifying it unless they look at your pay stubs (which they don't ask for).

Banks won't ask for your pay stubs. Credit unions will.

Easiest way to build credit is to put money down on a secured loan, line of credit, or credit card. Borrow against the money you out down and pay it back every month. At the end of the term receive your secured deposit back. Best part is there's no hard inquiry on your credit so your score doesn't take a ding.

RIP, the feds will get you [emoji]128128[/emoji]

You can do it and they'll give you it. If your not careful and try to outspend on what you have...thats when theyll get you when you got that 10k limit and apend 8k on it and cant pay it off
