Wow Doctors are getting paid so much now after this Affordable Care Act

For the love of God man, stop all this pocket watching and yearning for other people's lives. It's starting to become pathetic. Again, whatever it is, just do it.
Reminds me of everyone on social media now saying "Goals" on every celebrity picture lol.

You speak the truth. I think the top surgeons are around $3M a year while hedge fund managers make exponentially more.

You don't go into medicine to make money. Those who do quickly change majors. I remember when I was a pre med and in my first year, my bio teacher will say most of you will switch majors before getting your bachelors

My sister went to University of Chicago which is just a BRUTAL college. She was bio pre med and one of her teachers straight up told the class that most people will switch out of the major. Then after the first test dude was straight up telling to drop out of the program. He said "Listen, no matter how great you do in following test, I will not pass you, so just drop out". A lot of people who he told to drop out stayed in his class so he sent a mass email that said "Listen, I already told some of you that you will not pass. So why are you still in the class? I will not pass you"

I don't even know what you're talking about.  I was just saying this is probably the reason why healthcare is so expensive in this country compared to most of the world.  Healthcare workers in other countries aren't paid like this.
Most other countries have cheaper healthcare probably because their healthcare is probably not on par with what the U.S offers (training, technology,etc.). Not fair to even single out just health care workers, most workers period aren't paid like how they are in America. There's a reason why jobs are outsourced...

Anyone in the healthcare field just for the money is in it for the wrong reason...but to be able to make a wage and help people...that sounds like a nice deal. And the $$ amounts being thrown around in this thread are ridiculous, no one is making those type of numbers unless they've gone through hell in school, probably got tons of debt and began making that type of money when they're middle aged and they're literally one of the best at what they do or their slaves to their work (72hrs/weekly,etc.) like mentioned already.

if a staff nurse is making 185k do understand they are working a full time job and damn near full time hours PRN at another facility........

The only specialty in Nursing making that much on a normal salary is a Nurse Anesthesist and 185k is at the top end. Everyone else is definitely working two jobs and doing like 72 hours/week.

Healthcare in this country has progressed and hopefully does more in the next decade.

We could honestly cut healthcare costs by 90% if we treated health as a preventative issue.

The sugar consumption and overall caloric consumption in our country is out of control. I am seeing a positive change away from processed foods, etc though. The re-education of Americans is happening slowly.

Most of our healthcare problems in the US are problems resulting from overconsumption, rather than inherent conditions or illnesses.

Nutritionist need better pay and companies need better fiscal incentives for helping their employees be healthy. Doctors pay has almost nothing to do with the exorbitant healthcare costs in our country.

I know someone who failed in the states and went to the Bahamas for med school
Failed 4x before finally passing
Truly the field of practicing medicine
