MTV Documentary "White People" 7/22 Vol. Insert "and here we go" GIF

My wife got all sorts of **** from her classmates in dental school. She heard "your only here cause your native american" like she didn't take the same tests to get into the same school.

Bruh where the hell do you live that people feel ok sayings something like that?
you know how bold some get when they think they're talking "politics"

My unbias opinion:

I think this documentary also has to do with social economic class aside from race. And there's still a lot of white people in this country, so the amount to apply for scholarships of course will be overwhelming for whites. I also think it's a way to make white people feel that guilt and you other minorities are loving it and hoping this could open new doors and give more opportunities to minorities.

Damn @ the whites saying whites are the "Norm" or the "Default", as if we minorities are mutants or something, that was messed up. I also didn't like the fact that the white teachers didn't discuss the negative things they did in this country in terms of history in the Native America school.

If this was the only documentary which is 1 hour, it's not enough. They didn't cover the more important aspects. I was hoping they'd cover the jobs situation because that's for sure where all the white privilege is at, as well as housing, loans, banking etc. Scholarships was talked about too much, BTW did the statistics ever count the football, baseball, and basketball scholarships minorities get? I'm a minority and was still able to apply for scholarships and financial aid from school. No interviews required, no judging on appearance, it was simply the faster you apply, the more guaranteed it is but getting a job is a bit more difficult for me.

For all you guys laughing at this documentary though, what if they made a "Black People" documentary? Or "Mexican People" or etc documentary, oh wait, that's racist right?

That's just my unbias opinion, but I know I'll get flamed anyway because there's always anger on NT.
its not about guilt its about acknowledgement. things that white people forget about when they starting going off at the mouth about "reverse racism" and the "advantages" that minorities have they completely neglect to acknowledge the fact that all these things are a direct response to disadvantages. you know why there are so many black scholarships? because blacks are underrepresented in higher education. Why are blacks under represented? Because we dont have a history or a tradition of higher education, and guess whos fault that is? heres a hint, check the title of the doc. Tons of white people have parents and grand parents and great grand parents that went to college which means that not only is college a tradition, its expected. and with that comes the money to pay for college or atleast have an easier time paying for it. generations of higher learning means generations of working good jobs/careers, which means generations of acquiring wealth, property, and knowledge. i dont think people can fathom how far ahead some one can get in life if they dont have to pay for a college education or a mortgage. Guess what, 99.9999% of minorities dont have access to that.

You should simply try turning on your tv and basically seeing those 2 on every channel, whether it's on purpose or by accident. Also, you had some great points in that entire post, then basically negated it with those 2 sentences. I'm not even sure why you'd even ask that based on what you posted beforehand.

To add to that, what exactly would the basis of those documentaries be about?

You'd probably have to find it on YouTube or through illegal means, cause just checkong the guide it doesn't look like MTV is re-airing this  (shocking I know). Tried to find it right after since I missed the first half, and I just kept hitting forward for the times and thete was nothing at all  which is funny cause you can always count on MTV (and BET) for multiple immediate re-airings of shows.

Mega Meh.

Truth is white people know they are privileged. The ones who deny it come off like spoiled entitled kids. The way they feel is "yeah we did all of that... so?"

Race relations will never change here. I have no hope for things improving.

So much insecurity in whiteness...

Australians slaughtered aboriginals and they're not even African

:smh:

It's amazing

this documentary was annoying as hell.

content aside  the host was terrible and it was so corny how the camera zoomed in on his confused expression every time someone said something they perceived to be controversial.

I'm a white male and would love to get interviewed for this documentary. I want to expose white people as much as possible in hopes to destroy white privilege and get them out of denial that we don't have it easier in many aspects of life. Makes me sick actually. It really makes me sick that I feel like I have to hold it in around the people I grew up around because it makes them so uncomfortable. All of it has led me to the point where my life goal is to get out of this country (USA) and live where there are the least amount of white people possible (Central/South America, Southeast Asia, Africa, or wherever there is cool mountain climate to grow crops and close enough to the ocean).

Come at me white people. SRS.

 Your life goal is to move? Don't talk about it be about it.

I knew someone was going to come in with the obvious "You don't like it here? Why don't you get out already then!". Tranquilo papi chulo.

I'm looking to buy property abroad playboy. I need money to do that. This country (USA) is good for that, it can be a land of opportunity, which I am thankful for. A lot of great things about the USA. I've received (and still working on) a good edumacation. I'm 24 and I've traveled all over South America and Europe in the past 4 years. My family is here and they like it for different reasons than myself. I'm busy making/saving money here now so I can make the move ASAP. Only reason I'm still here is to capitalize on my education and for the money grab.

Shhhhhh.....it's ok.....

You don't have to leave the country for that.

You don't have to leave the country for that.

That's true, but the places I mentioned have a lower cost of living throughout the whole country and when I have kids I want to raise them in a different cultural environment. These foreign countries have their own problems too (some better, some worse), but I'm ready to deal with that.

I want to have my own land, grow my own crops, and raise my kids to be open minded and accepting of all people. You're right, I don't have to leave the USA to do that, but I feel like I have the best chance of doing it while being the happiest I can be in the above mentioned regions. I know not everyone is going to agree with that, but that is OK with me.

Close minded Utah. Well we were in Nebraska at the time. But the people that said that to her were from Utah. They felt like she took someone more deserving's place. She never told me til after she graduated or they would have caught the fade like Calvin Johnson.
