Has anyone used Glyde (they buy/sell used tablets)?

I'm looking to pick up a cheap tablet to use at home and came across this site. I want something Android (what I'm used to), that is easy to read books on, Flipboard, watch YouTube and surf NT. Light would be best too. I've been out of the tech game for a bit so would appreciate NT's help.

(including shipping + excellent condition):

  • Kindle Fire 2012 Wifi with Ads - $46
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (2012), 8 gb, Wifi - $58
  • Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7" (2013) 2013 16GB - WiFi - $84
  • Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7" (2013) 16GB WiFi w/Ads - $89
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (2012) 16GB - WiFi - Black - $111

Anything else I should consider? No idea how Kindle Fire's are (and wth does ads mean) with their app store, usage, etc. I'm semi sold on getting the last one, Tab with Wifi for $111 or the Wifi (no ads I assume) Kindle for $84. Though 2012/2013 seems so old.

Get an iPad Mini.

I used a friend's mini last summer and was reasonably happy with how it felt in my hands. The only problem with Apple stuff is that there is no back button that I can figure out. My Android phones etc it part of the main touch buttons on the phone (back, home, menu). Also it is way overpriced and does the exact same stuff. $150 for Ipad mini (1) wifi is the lowest on there.

You're best option would be to look at an ipad mini 2, or nexus 7 2013. Avoid the ipad mini 1.
If you like android, the nexus 7 2013 is your best bet for a really cheap android tablet stock android, fast, and nice screen

Since I lost my iPhone (waiting for the next one in September), I've been forced to use a galaxy note ii for the past month, and I must admit that the back button is very clutch. I've exclusively been an iPhone user since the 3G, so it's been pretty cool seeing what the other side is like.

Thanks - went ahead and purchased the Nexus 7 2013 one that was suggested. Didn't realize that it was also Android until I looked at it more + ever useful back button. Bought it on Amazon for $122 including shipping.

NT is clutch.

And the Nexus tablet is running Vanilla Android so you'll get the best Android experience.

Love my 2013 WiFi, bought it on groupon for $150. They are probably much cheaper now. Asus ZenPad S, looks interesting too for $200.

Had a kindle and it was a joke. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Yea, I got the LG Gpad 8.0 from Tmobile through the free tablet promotion. There's a lot of lag on it and but for it being a free tablet (aside from the $20/mo. for 5gb data and JUMP insurance) it's not a bad device. Has a stylus and has a USB 3.0 port so I can plug my external in it and watch movies. Does need better Chromcast support though.

I was going to get a Nexus tablet until I got this one. My daughter has the 1st gen iPad mini and I'm not fond of it. $300 for 16gb that got eaten up within 6mos due to app updates and software updates :smh:

I really think 32gb needs to be the norm w/ no affect on pricing for tablets and smartphones but what do I know.

Amazon OS is only good for "Xfinity on the go" (Sucks "Xfinity TV" is only available on android and apple)
