Ronda Rousey has become extremely annoying TITLE CHANGE

I believe it was Jim Brown who said, "Ali was hated until he lost his ability to speak"
Yep. exactly what I was taught. People eventually felt sorry for dude. I mean, even go back to when Jackie Frazier was about to fight Layla Ali. All of the garbage Ali said about her father was brought back to the attention of people. Like I said man, if we are going use "ARROGANCE" as THE reason why we dislike certain folks, why do some people get a pass and others don't?

Which is why I said to Lucky, "arrogance" is the verbal excuse, it must be something else. Maybe we don't want to see a white woman be cocky and arrogant? Maybe white america didn't want to see a little black dude with cornrows and 4x t-shirts be arrogant. Arrogance just hides whatever the real reason is.

ALL of those top athletes are arrogant,

Great read
One of the most popular questions boxing historians are asked regarding Muhammad Ali is, “How did a guy who was once the most reviled man in America become the most beloved person on earth?” It is a very good question. The public’s attitude change regarding Muhammad Ali took place over a period of years starting in 1967. In order to look at the public’s attitude change towards him we must start by looking at how the negative public attitude directed at Ali began.

My uncle who is 70, a huge sports fan, grew up in Harlem, and was active in civil rights told me a bunch of times back in the day there were a lot of folk that hated/disliked Ali, even many black folk.

They thought he was too arrogant mostly. Which makes sense, I doubt him being a Muslim helped also

-But in recent times he has become universally loved.

I think part of the hate also came from him trash talking Smoking Joe, but he went too far calling him a guerilla and that's all he harped on, he went in on Joe and even calling him dumb, and he never really let up. At one point, I maybe wrong, but I think Joe felt betrayed by Ali because Joe felt like he helped Ali get back on his feet after Ali did his bid.

Yeah, the way ali treated and insulted Joe Frazier was pretty messed up. I always want to see the trash talkers put to sleep in combat sports. Who was the more popular of the two at the time?

That's exactly the reason my uncle doesn't like Ali

Thinks he was the ultimate scumbag for shading a man that help him when he was at his lowest.
