I love Tyson too, but you have to put his career in perspective. When he was young and killing everybody, thats HBO building up the hype train. All his opponents were C and D level fighters and A fighters that were way past their prime and from lighter divisions. When Tyson stepped up, he started going rounds and eventually lost ALL of his big fights, even to Buster Douglas who was a C level fighter.

The name of the game in boxing is name creation. You create a name by handing him wins and see if the public bites. Then you get another guy they've done that with and create a "mega fight" which is just a cool word for "finally two good people are fighting".

I mean them chicks only make 6k -14k per season as opposed to the men who can make millions if a superstar even a bench player could make 60k a season sitting on the sidelines. Not counting endorsement deals of course.

Not just on espn, on a lot of channels. They trying to ignore the difference in money that men's sports generate compared to women. Talking bout the women's world cup final ratings like that happens more often than once every four years. Even one of the fox sports women said women's basketball isn't as athletic or exciting and one of the men was trying to earn points saying that statement was disrespectful and the wnba was as skillful and exciting as the nba. He should've been fired right there for being so stupid.

They get paid more because the NBA provides a superior product.

In tennis, the women bring in just about the same ratings as men. And they sale out just as much or more. Especially Venus and Serena. Only thing is they only play best of 3. They should have the option to play best of 5 for more money.
