My point is this, ya'll nitpick about who ya'll support and who ya'll don't. When it's someone YOU support that does wrong you turn the other cheek, but when it comes down to it, some people just flat out dislike Floyd.
Floyd been catching DV cases, it wasn't until recently when the media started giving his transgressions more press that people used it as reason to justify their vitriol for him.
I don't see Jim Lampley getting the same vitriol, when he himself has his own history of domestic violence. Yet he gets no coverage, nobody calls for his job or the blackballing of matches he commentates.
People nitpick, but the fact is ya'll like who ya'll like and dislike whoever ya'll dislike. Just be real about it.

The media didn't give any real coverage of Floyd's DV incidents until after his 2013 incarceration and the Guerrero fight when he was released.
He's been doing this **** since '02. Where was the press then? Where was the vitriol from all these boxing fans then? Fact is most of ya'll are just like the media, ya'll will care when it's convenient.
The media will cover it leading up to Floyd's fights now because they're riding the buzz surrounding the fight. They see the money. After the fight they'll move on to the next hot button topic and won't touch the issue again 'til the next Floyd fight.

IDK, the feigned, selective outrage is there. When I dislike a boxer, it'll be for boxing reasons. I'll dislike a guy who'll always force opponents to fight at catch weights or who'd call out fighters 4 weight classes lower than him.
I'll dislike a guy for doping and cheating.
But when it comes to character, it's rare I vilify a guy for simply that reason. When I do this, I tend to analyze why I feel that way and I find that well, I'm just rationalizing and looking for a reason to hate a guy, to jeer against a guy.
A lot of casual boxing fans do this, they need that villain. And the media, and even Floyd himself, love you for it.
I just ask that you all remain objective and make sure you hold everyone else to the same standards.

It's just funny to me that nobody was talking DV 'til 2013 but he's been doing it since 2002.
Before then it was "I hate his personality, he's disrespectful, he's too flamboyant, etc".

Dudes were not going in on him like that 'til his incarceration bruh, stop it.
Nobody gave a damb about his feud with his father really. IDK who made a big deal of that. It was covered in depth during the HBO 24/7 series, but the media def did not make a circus of the feud like they've done with Floyd's DV since 2013.
Seriously, barely anybody made mention of Floyd's DV history for the DLH fight, or the Hatton fight, or the Cotto fight, or the Marquez fight.
Pull me a thread from back then, show me where people on NT were talking about Floyd's domestic violence convictions before 2013 like they talk about them post-incarceration.

This whole issue just really stems from Floyd being black Sean Penn and Charlie Sheen have both beat their wife's and there no real hatred for either of them
