WHy is all this stuff taking over a week to be given to us. All this smells fishy as hell, like they needed time to organize **** get it together to pacify the public.
Can't expect us to trust **** after they edited the dash cam video.

To even bring up the notion of rioting shows your childish, prejudice, ignorant mindset. There have been no riots and won't be.

Man dudes couldn't wait to say I told you so to black folks. Dude literally tagged me in a post on FB basically saying ha what now :smh: and I've never even made a post about this...I learned long ago it's a waste of time debating these police shootings, etc. they never gonna see it from our POV

When this first happened I said they were jumping to conclusions too fast. It is what it is

Edit: this now gave sws ammo and they'll run to this situation for a good 2-3 years

I've personally witnessed cops drag a dude to a cell, in handcuffs, and beat him within an inch of his life. But I do understand why folks would be so quick to dismiss the probability that a person could be severely injured or even killed in a jail cell by law enforcement. I happen to know for a fact that it happens and that it goes unchecked. It's not a notion that one can comfortably accept without an immense burden of proof. But in reality, what happened to this young woman, aside from her death, is quite common. People are treated in this manner on a daily basis. For people who live these events, as opposed to watching the media present it to you when, where and how it sees fit, the plight is real.

But it is sad nobody could muster up $500 for her. That's a tragedy in itself

My point exactly however there's a lot of things being brushed under the rug in this story. Like Manu black deaths her death probably started from birth.

I mean obviously if she was dealing with mental issues but I don't think it's my place to speak on it. Her mother has to deal with that. I will agree that mental illness is ignored in the black community but that's for a different thread not this one
 
I don't care to derail this thread. Go start another thread about mental health in the black community.

But there's nothing about her past in the media to even continue the discussion about her mental state.

I read about this lady's story and it sounds like her cries for help had gone unheard by her friends and fsmily. You could argue the stress of racism finally tipped her over the edge. The effects on racism and mental illness and how it's a taboo in the black community should be a topic for discussion. I suspect having a white man KILL your daughter is easier to stomach than her killing herself.

But I suppose if I were her fsmily I'd scapegoat the police as well. Especially in texas.

That cop should be fired and charged but I'm not sure what he should be charged with.

hey anton i know youre a doctor but please if your specialty isnt on mental health, im asking you to chill.

ive been a therapist for near a decade and im afraid of what nters have up their sleeves in regards to mental health, especially in minority communities.
