Alejandro Inarritu's THE REVENANT (starring Leo Dicaprio, Hardy)

When son slept in that horse though  Him going off the cliff alone had me like :wow: :smh:

Almost thought he was gonna eat those two huge kidneys just to survive.

 Man this movie could've been part of the Die Hard series all the times I thought he was done for.

That horse hoodie was dope. Would rock. :smokin

Saw the leak. Honestly, I expected more from this movie. Maybe I just had too high expectations beforehand.

The movie isn't bad or anything and has some scenes that had me like
eek.gif

But thought there was too many slow moments, the movie is mad long (2.5 hrs)

I understand there wasn't going to be much dialogue in this movie, perhaps that's why I though it could've been condensed to a shorter movie.

^ If the movie was shorter I feel it would've robbed viewers of the experience of getting a taste of what it'd be like to be out in the American frontier during winter. All those quiet moments in between those actions scenes that ended up hitting you hard and fast were all cerebral decisions.

I was tight when he had to leave the bear sweater/jacket behind. That would've been a nice mix with the horse hoodie :smokin

The scenes were long and dragged out so that viewers can sit back and admire and appreciate how beautiful the scenery is, but at the same time, understand the near hopelessness Leo's character has to struggle through to get to his goal. If this thing was edited to be some quick plot driven action movie, you would never fully grasp the weight of his survival just to get to Hardy.

Like can you imagine crawling miles in unexplored frontier against the weather with life threatening injuries.

The only thing that I ain't really dig was the flashbacks.

I'm pretty sure a lot of folks liked them. But for me they were disruptive. I'd be at the edge of my seat and all of the sudden *flashback* and I'd be like man....C'mon Inarritu .

Other than that I loved the film. They filmed the entire movie in natural lighting. No spotlights or CGI used for the actual lighting. It was all real sun light.

That's just crazy and I know they had to time a lot of scenes just right to get the correct shots. I'm sure that required a ton of patience and a lot of takes.

Really immersive. Made me truly appreciate the stock of folks back then. People nowadays aren't built for that life. To be a frontiersman or a Native American in that environment you had to really be cut from some rugged *** cloth.

Great film.

Dude was wearing that bear that almost killed him throughout the movie til he lost it before sleeping in the horse.

He wont get an Oscar for this, it wasnt enough "acting".

Somewhere, bear gryll watches and a single tear of joy streams down his face. He gives a silent "yes!" and pumps his fist when Leo cuts the horse open.

Great film.

But its ovvious that the guy from The Danish Girl is winning best actor. Its almost too predictable.

Good movie, a little overrated tho. I think the cinematography not the acting is what makes it a very good movie.

That bear mauling is cinematic genius. Just when you thought the bear was done it just kept clawing at Leo. :x

Leo pulling a Luke Skywalker and sleeping in horse guts for the night :x

How did Leo not get frost bitten, dude is traversing cold rivers, sleeping in snow and somehow was warm enough not to have his fingers and nose fall off

My man Tom Hardy is the same character in every movie, he has that exact same cadence to his voice but it works for him. I guess you can take the boy out of east London, but can't take the London out the boy.

7.5/10 good flick. And no Leo doesn't deserve an oscar for this. Please don't hurt me.

I thought he was gutting the horse so he could eat it.

When he jumped in it I was like "whoa."

Good flick

I enjoyed it...don't believe he will win an Oscar though...

Had the urge to play red dead redemption after watching it...I fell off cliffs with my horse countless times in that game...

The bear scene was crazy :pimp:

To have the presence of mind to play dead why the bear is clawing at you looking for an opening...

Easily my favorite scene

Best part is that the bear scene was done wi just Leo being strung up and thrown around. They added the bear post production apparently.

Amazing scene.

Should I go see this in theatres or is the rip easy to come by :nerd:

i had no problem finding it online..it's not theater worthy imo because of the realness of the movie...if it had a ton of special effects and crazy cgi i'd say a theater but this is just good story telling

Looks like I'm going to have to find this movie...

The story really caught my attention.
