It's been a while since I've seen someone so blatantly talk on the phone while driving.
Then i looked at the license plate and it was an Iowa plate.

Looked it up and it seems like Iowa doesn't have fines for using electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle.

Has something similar happened to you when traversing through to another state

You can't Fined with out of state tags for doing something that's legal in the state your car is registered to. That's out of the police's jurisdictions

I know Virginia doesn't allow radar detectors  and their speeding fines are crazy compared to NC

Yea...under no circumstance should you be blatant w/ your speeding in VA.

Radar detectors are legal here in texas. And i dont even own one smh.

I think they are startin some program thats directly aimed to catch texter and drivers. Kinda like speed traps.

Yeah every time I go back to NY to visit family from NC, I hate driving through VA....Last few times I've seen more cops in MD though

Beyond False.. when you drive thru a state with a specific law, it applies to all drivers driving through no matter where you're from. Here in FL is not illegal to talk on the phone and drive but it is illegal to text and drive. You can also carry your firearm in the car as long as your transporting it correctly (either in case or with a carry concealed license). You don't need a carry conceal if your going to the shooting range as long as it's not within reach.

Only reason I make that statement is because I've had friends who have illegal tints and tinted headlights in NYC, and get pulled over out of state for that (Jusidiction in this case is Delaware), and the trooper is unable to give them a ticket to tints because they have NY tags. Regardless the legality of the tints Im NYC, a DE trooper can't give someone a ticket for having something against the law in NY.

Am I right?

But of course everything doesn't work like that

Difference between motor vehicle violations and motor vehicle moving violations. A tinted window is different compared to using the cell phone or texting. Speed Limit in FL is different from speed limit in another state like VA. If you have FL Plates your not gonna exceed the VA driving speeds or use a cell phone driving thru that state and expect not to get a ticket.

It can be 6:30 in the morning here in Iowa and half the drivers are on their phones.

He's right for the most part, ex tint laws .. Now sound and speeding is based on posted

Tint laws vary from state to state and you won't be issued a ticket for having a darker tint than what that state requires (that you're driving through)...however, that has nothing to do with a moving violation.

Ahh I see, makes sense

Anyone have the whole windshield tinted? Whats it look like from da inside

I don't have it, but I been in cars that do. It's overkill to me. First time I got my tints (30% all around except windshield) and I drove through Long Island (suburban are, not many lights), I had to let my windows down just to see where I was turning. Granted, I eventually got use to it. But I can't even imagine driving with a blacked out windshield.
