Not a good look Hilary :smh:

Add this one to the “imagine if she were a Republican” files: old white lady expresses fear of young black men, political funeral details to come.

During a campaign speech on Thursday, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton touched on race, saying that even “open-minded white people” are sometimes afraid of hoodie-wearing black people:

“I mean if we’re honest, for a lot of well-meaning, open-minded white people, the sight of a young black man in a hoodie still evokes a twinge of fear,” Clinton said.

Hillary’s statement raises a number of questions, first of which is: does Hillary Clinton feel a twinge of fear at the sight of a young black man in a hoodie?

Or, if you want to come at the issue from a different angle: Is she “honest?” What about “well-meaning?” Does Hillary Clinton view herself as being “open-minded?” If so, her remarks seem to very clearly suggest that she may in fact feel a twinge of fear at the sight of a young black man in a hoodie.

What about the white men in white hoodies?

Huh? That's just a statement. Im black and I'd even say white people are scared of black people in hoodies. Im not saying the fear is rational or right, but I'd be lying if I said otherwise

How is this not a good look for Clinton? Got sucked in here w/ the clickbait title

“I mean if we’re honest, for a lot of well-meaning, open-minded white people, the sight of a young black man in a hoodie still evokes a twinge of fear,” Clinton said.

She never said she feels this way, but truth of the matter is, there are unfortunately people out there who do.

If hilary views herself as "open minded" then she must feel this way. If she doesn't view herself as open minded, then what is she?

Seriously though she is saying what a lot of people are thinking unfortunately. I think Hilary is at the point now where she is old enough to not care as much about how this makes her look. America remains bias in many areas. People are brought up the way they are brought up and that's hard to shake as one gets older.

You're looking for something that isn't there and you're making assumptions to fit your narrative.

If she comes out and says she feels this way, then that's one thing. However, she didn't in that clip.

You do realize this would be campaign sabotage if she did, right?

Doesn't matter how many people wanna say it imo...doesn't make it right..

A prejudice is exactly that.

Very sillly thing to say imo...

They are in certain situations.
Not like she said "All black men in hoodies are robbers and murderers"

Leave her be. It doesn't offend me

In context, its not that bad.

She just being open about what people already know.

Fear is an emotion derived from being unable to navigate through the unknown ...get to know black men in hoodies as well as your campaign contributors and maybe they wouldn't be so "scary", to you. The entitlement and justification of some people is 10x as scary.

I know it is not right but if things aren't spoken about how will we fix things. Personal experience from living in the Northeast and also the Southeast U.S. people down south are more honest and open about their racial opinions. They let me know right out the gate. Up north it is seldom talked about and sometimes hidden. I sometimes find out people looked down on others or myself because of race or ethnicity after years of knowing them. Neither situation is right but I think a forum should be opened about stereotypes and such, if we want to progress through them.

Don't ignore it b. "she said well-meaning, and open-minded white people." Does she consider herself to be either one of those, if not both? She said it in a way that doesn't implicate herself but still could express her sentiments w/o actually saying it; she is a politician after all.

Who do you support fly?

Whoever promises to pardon Max B

Tbh, white dudes rocking hoodies make me a bit uncomfortable

Have to see it in context...

Giving her the benefit of the doubt that she was saying that this is how a lot of white people think (which it is) and that it's wrong...

If not, then yeah she wildin...

But the damage is done with this headline once it spreads...
