Hilary Clinton says "Black Men in Hoodies Are Scary"

How is this not a good look for Clinton? Got sucked in here w/ the clickbait title
She never said she feels this way, but truth of the matter is, there are unfortunately people out there who do.

If hilary views herself as "open minded" then she must feel this way. If she doesn't view herself as open minded, then what is she?

You're looking for something that isn't there and you're making assumptions to fit your narrative.

If she comes out and says she feels this way, then that's one thing. However, she didn't in that clip.

You do realize this would be campaign sabotage if she did, right?

Don't ignore it b. "she said well-meaning, and open-minded white people." Does she consider herself to be either one of those, if not both? She said it in a way that doesn't implicate herself but still could express her sentiments w/o actually saying it; she is a politician after all.

She has everything riding on this campaign. She wouldn't sabotage herself, bruh

To me, she was speaking generally in that I'm sure she knows people who have that mindset she just described.

In context, its not that bad.

She just being open about what people already know.

Agreed about the context. If her point was that this is a truth for some folks (many), we need to understand the root causes of why that is, and then have discussion on those root causes (media portrayal, etc.).

Ultimately that may be where she was going with it...acknowledging that we still have a very very long way to go on the fight for equality. Not sure.

:smh: at anybody who felt any type a way about what she said.

FAX!

There are white co workers I deal with everyday who seem like good open minded people.

I guarantee they cross the street when they're walking the streets at night.

I guarantee there's a very good larger point she's making.

 @ the clear clip editing what she was saying before and after that comment.

Y'all some fools

Slippery slope still though, especially giving the history from where that notion was conjured from. Trayvon wasn't the aggressor, and yet, he is looked at as such. Then to consider Black men in hoodies as the boogeyman and not all men in general, not a good look. But of course this is the convo based off of that little clip. We have to see the whole speech to gain context.

But it would have been better to leave skin color out of the example

Given how many black men went to prison due to her husband's policies I'm sure she feels this anyway even without saying it. Now he says he made a mistake to get the black community to support her campaign. Hillary is a fraud. More people need to wake up to this.

But she's the lesser of 2 evils. Sanders aint getting the Dem nod, nor will he win as an independent. That's all u vote for in an election. I'd prefer having her in the Oval Office as opposed to whoever the GOP conjures up.

Get Biden, Sanders, Kerry, and Clinton on stage and I bet it gets a lot more competitive than Clinton wants.

How is she the lesser of two evils? Do you know what the Clinton Foundation is doing in Haiti? They're essentially raiding it for profit and literally own a piece of the island that they got after the earthquake. There's a reason she's fighting so hard to keep many of those emails hidden. She is corruption personified. I don't believe in Sanders either. He's the left's Ron Paul, just not a racist.

All of them suck. This election we're getting the previously fired NFL head coaches pick up or the Nba mid year free agent pick :x

what kind of hoodies she talm bout doh? just black hoodies? white folks afraid when they see me roll up in this green indian head Polo joint? They shook from the old ed hardy slim hoodies? what about this purple nike dry fit hoodie with the kobe logos? All hoodies + black dudes = no bueno?

I have a problem with what she said. What do whites have to fear from a black man in a hoodie that anyone else in a hoodie wouldn't do? It's not like black men are walking in to churches, movie theaters or elementary schools and killing people

Who do u believe the Dems will push though? It's almost guaranteed she gets the Democratic ticket. I don't like none of em forreal because I know they all have their hidden agendas which won't benefit me, Black people, nor the middle class working poor.

It's almost like, would u rather a bullet to the head or to be buried alive?

It's not really open-minded if a black man in a hoody causes you fear you actually live a sheltered and bigoted lifestyle. And well-meaning means nothing when your actions dictate otherwise.

I hope she doesnt hold those sentiments and maybe just a lack of context.

Just like a tatooed white guy may scare some people. Better yet, law abiding black males being a bit scared that a police officer may abuse their power and be prejudice against blacks.

I'm trying to find the whole speech to get the context of the statement but can't seem to find it.

A 14 seconds clip with no context of her saying something that is true.

And I'm suppose to be upset by this?

I will wait until I see the entire video. But I'm willing to bet she is making a measured honest commentary about race relations in this country. Like she usually does

One thing I will give to Clinton, even though I don't agree with a lot of her politics, out off all white politicians on the national level, ole girl always keeps it the realest.

She's voicing what a lot non blacks think of. There is a negative image with an adult sized male with a hood on - especially a black male.
