My last pick came down between Gordon and Lance.

Lance is younger, stays healthier, plays defense, boards, passes, scores enough, shoots enough

Gordon shoots 44% from 3, and 41 from anywhere else. (how the hell???????)

After his rookie year, Gordon hasn't played 65 games in a season yet.

Lance's final year in Indy he was tremendous, he screwed up goin to Charlotte, but I expect him to bounce back in a big way this year (with DJ, CP3, Blake in real life, or with Boogie, Batum, and Tristan in this life  )

Hey, if half of his attempts are coming from outside the arc, I don't see the issue  . I guess its no different than someone shooting 44% from the field and 41% from 3  . Plus, he's going to be healthy in the simulation

I like the Lance pick up too, though.

See this is what I am talking about.  Anthony Morrow is a 4th round pick?  A dude that has bounced around the league who plays less than half an NBA game on average for the last 3 years is a 4th round pick?  No offense JRS.  It was actually a good pick considering what is left.

I wanted to give the NBA one a shot, and I am not going to go ghost because I think it is boring.  But it is just that.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. I love basketball, it's my second favorite sport behind baseball, but an NBA redraft just isn't nearly as fun as the baseball or NFL redrafts.

Like someone else said, I think a lot of it has to do with the lack of variety in a basketball player. What's the difference between a Al Jefferson and a Brook Lopez at the end of the day, really? Sure, one might be slightly better than the other, but the drop off isn't steep. There are only so many roster spots on a team, and obviously only 5 dudes on the court at a time lol.

For those of you that feel this way about the NBA Redraft, please fill me in on the difference between this offensive guard over here, or that defensive tackle over there, or kickers, punters, 2nd safeties, defensive ends being drafted for a 4-3 defense, that don't actually play in a 4-3 defense, etc.

It's the same thing folks, just with more names. By round 4-5 of the NFL one, there were some real random exciting Left Tackles bein taken, and things like that.

In baseball it's #4 starters, and 4th relievers, and closers, and bats off the bench, and guys that hit a buck eighty and the whole nine there.

35 players per team NFL redraft
24 players per team MLB redraft
12 players per team NBA redraft.

Makes perfect sense that fewer "names" will make it seem like it's a little watered down in the NBA, but it's no different as I just pointed out.

I wholeheartedly disagree with you that "it's no different."

You facetiously state that there were some real exciting left tackles being taken in the 4th round of the NFL redraft.  While offensive linemen may not be "exciting," you are still building your team with Pro Bowlers and All Pros at that point.  Yes, I am aware that it has to do with the fact that there are more positions in NFL.  But someone just drafted a player that averages 6 points and 15 minutes a game.  IN THE FOURTH ROUND.

I am aware that there are reasons as to why the talent seems watered down in the NBA redraft.  But just because there are reasons why the talent is watered down less than half way through a draft doesn't mean the problem of talent being watered down does not exist.

Just my 2 cents.

Complaining about "watered down" talent adds nothing to the thread and is misinformed.

Morrow was one of the 10 best shooters in the entire league and only played that amount of minutes because he had an imbecile for a coach who thought Dion Waiters was a better option.

Is Gordon a bum for shooting the lights out too?

Nobody forcing you to be apart of the redraft man, you free to give your spot up and wait till NFL or MLB to come back around.

Are posting pictures of each others dogs or discussing In-N-Out versus 5 guys adding something to this thread?  Didn't see you coming at those posters though.

Come on man we are simply having a discussion about the talent pool.  I knew bringing it up would ruffle feathers of the "basketball over everything" crowd.  Its just my opinion.  Misinformed?  Nope.

the canadian delegation has called dips on managing his team

time to form like voltron

Nothing wrong with a little side discussion. It's a valid point, round 4 and we're already in role player territory.

I couldn't disagree more with regards to the NBA talent being watered down. You can't expect the 100th pick in the draft to average 18 points. There are only so amny points to be scored. In baseball you can either pick a great hitter or a great pitcher. In the NFL you can go with like 30 different positions. Don't confuse that with more talent. Just more opportunities.

You had an all-star go #101 and shot almost 50/50/90 last season in Kyle Korver. You had a center that anchored the league's best defense / NBA champions defense go right after that. I guess it depends on what you considered "watered down"

Not to mention 1st team All NBA defender in TA being picked after that and a young PG stud in Elfrid Payton being picked in the 4th round as well. There are still other guys available that could very well be all-stars possibly or elite at a certain skillset. I can see your point, but I think the talent is still there if you really know the game and the players.

You may not think there's a huge difference between Al Jefferson and Brook Lopez, but there are quite a few differences between the 2. Its just not fair to expect an NBA player to literally "have it all" and not be limited to elite skillsets similar to MLB and NFL players who are stuck having 1 or 2 elite skillsets like a LG

Exactly, I don't see how you can even compare the sports from a roster building standpoint.

I hear your point Dland, but there's also HOF championship, MVP type guys to be chosen, award winners left to be taken, valuable starters on contenders, etc. Morrow provides a skill, just as an All Pro LG would protect your QB.

Plenty of talent still to be had.
