As far as the question, pretty much. He ran his course, but like others have said, other people stepped in his lane, and by the time his 2nd album came along, the novelty wasn't there anymore. Compare the buzz leading up to and right after his first album. It was insane. No Lie, Birthday Song, and I'm Different were smash hits, along with killing features on Mercy, Bandz Make Her Dance, Beez In The Trap, and F'n Problems. Now compare that to BOATS II...besides Fed Watching (which was a modest at best hit), do y'all even remember him having other singles for it :lol:? Also, his best worked was TRUrealgion, basically peaking with his best mixtape right before his commercial peak.

Son is so versatile, I was happy when Tit became 2Chainz and started gettin recognition for his work but Juicy J resurgence ****** up his wave IMO.

Juice doesn't do it as well but he has better backing.
 
11-12 chainz probably had the hottest buzz since prime wayne up until futures run right now

Gucci's buzz was heading that way. That Mariah Carey feature was huge. The ones with Mario. Usher, and Trey Songz two, along with his own singles. Then jail came (again) and he ****** it all up, dropping that trash single with Swizz Beatz, and it was a wrap.
 
Chainz is good. He's a southern boy. He'll be straight with his money.

Open up a couple car washes, barbershop, and he's set for life.

Kanye used him for his hype then left him to dry

I liked Chainz because dude's gimmick was so outrageous. His punchlines were so ridiculous Twitter came up with a hashtag that was like "#****2ChainzWouldSay" and they'd come up with the funniest bars it sounded like Chainz already rapped it.

His style does get old after awhile. He never made good music on his own. Always needed a feature or needed to be a feature to stay hot. Riot was like his only solo hit. He's just not someone you put on when you're in the crib chillin by yourself and need something to vibe to. Nothing deeper than what's on the surface.

His whole 1st album was full of solo hits
 
Simple, rap fans are fickle as ****. BOATS 2 was better than BOATS 1 and sold almost 100k LESS 1st week 1 year later :smh: (147k to 63k)

A lot of people today only listen to you when it's "cool" to listen to you.

He was ******* with Kanye and Drake, had some trending catchy adlibs ("TRUUUU"/"TEWCHAINNZZ"), etc. After that first album it just wasn't "cool" and "trendy" to bump 2chainz anymore for a lot of people.

And y'all wonder why ****** sell out and go pop :lol:

Before Future went on that run last year I honestly thought the same thing was gonna happen to him. It easily could have but it became cool again on social media to bump Future. I imagine that's why he put Ape **** on hold; on some **** that let me cash these ****** out right quick type ****.

I rock with whoever I'm feeling till I'm not feeling them anymore. I still listen to old Chainz joints from '12-'13.

I don't remember Yuck! even though I know I've heard it and Crack was poppin a little bit around my way. Everything else I'd have to hear to know if I've heard it.

2 Chainz songs will always be bigger than 2 Chainz the brand and that's the problem. No one's checking for him unless he gets a co-sign.
 
Ran out of content and his features became ridiculous.I will still bump his old stuff occasionally.
 
never Been a real fan..but did bump his music whenever it came on the radio...chainz good tho..he been grinding for a minute..finally caught fire..killed the streets for a year or 2 straight and now he can sit back and probably get 20,000 or more anytime he steps foot in a crib..I'm sure he good
