Hey there guys. Just picked up an mpc 2500. Looking for some tips and such to learn.

My mpc currently has jjos already on it. It just sucks that's there's so many different versions so a lot of tutorials don't go hand in hand.

Anywho, I'm curious to know which forums you guys frequent or other spots I could learn more.

There's several different ones but I rather go to the most active of course.

It would be like looking for a shoe forum and ending up on sneakertalk.

Thanks for the help.

You could try the makinghiphop Reddit

Maybe Gearslutz but I don't be on there to know if it's active.

Also FutureProducers.

I'm also looking for some producer communities.

Just stumbled upon this. Anyone use any of these different pdfs from mpc-tutor.com?

Curious to know if anyone would recommend it if I eventually decide to purchase it. The book is a $30 pdf.

I was hoping to find something more geared towards mpc specifically.

It's great that there's forums for producers in general but I want to focus on mpc's for now before branching off.

Are you on any of these currently?

I feel like I need to learn my way up to it. Pay my dues. I don't want to jump right into that. Kind of like how when Dj's start with pioneer decks and have no idea what to do with 1200s.

Let me just say this. I am a MPC fanatic and I am biased towards the traditional MPC. I've owned a 2500 since 07. I copped a MPC studio a couple weeks ago......

Go get you a MPC Studio.

Wow, that's two people already from three people reply.

Tell me about the studio? Pros and cons?

Of course it's newer, better, easier to use in the sense there's so much more support and such.

I mean, I'm sure you learned a lot from the 2500 that translated into the studio like butter.

Is the studio the best way to jump into it though? You would go that route if you had the chance to start over?

If your doing the studio, might as well get the MPC Renaissance. It comes with the extra plugs in the back so you don't have to buy other hardware to connect a piano and such.

Had my MPC studio for about eight months. Really just watched a few YouTube videos; just been letting time take its course.

After using the 2500 for so many years, getting started on the studio was easy as pie.

The studio is easier & fresher because you have access all your drums samples with ease and no more long & drawn tracking out.
