Dentist hunts and kills Cecil the lion

we destroyed the hostile environment and created a new environment build for our living comfort

animals are fighting over who is the alpha in an environment and we can come wipe everything off the map in a week

This arrogance is why we kill ourselves, the idea that we are at the top and can just take everything and anything, guarantee in the next of times we won't be the last standing species on this earth

you gotta be a christian^

in the next 100 years we gonna be populating space bruh....lol

And there is no way I can argue the positive we have done as a civilization, that would be moronic....however we are not the #1 survivalist species on earth.

bruh... yes we are

if earth was going to get hit by an asteroid we are the only ones who could repopulate outside of earth

this alone shows we are so survivalist we won't even NEED earth in the future

we created cities, safety bubbles and pushed nature away to keep us safe and chilled....see how safe you feel with lions and Pythons strolling through your daily commute to work, or sharks in your swimming pool
laugh.gif
But I don't have to because we were SMART ENOUGH to take control of the land and build our own barriers and our own safety and push the threats out and away from us. You act as though other animals don't try the same thing. A beaver has a dam, birds have nests, we have cities and fences and communities and paved roads, etc. We're just better at it.

Meanwhile Lions are still chasing zebras through the jungle like they have been since the beginning of time.
we consider "survival" walking through a hood late at night, not fencing for yourself against Mother Nature stranded in the middle of the Sahara.
And don't you think that shows how dominant we've been on this planet?

See I wouldn't JUST credit our intelligence for us being able to do all that we have done.

You have to factor in our Bodies (Ability to Walk upright. Thumb usage)

if we had the same intelligence... but the body of a dog... we would still be in a dominant position ...lol

the physical features just made it easier during the early stages of our existence...

I can't agree with that. If we had the same intelligence, and the physical appearance of a dog, we would simply be a dog.

Again, we don't KNOW if a dog has the same/less/more "intelligence" than we currently have. We have no genuine way to test a dogs intelligence because of the language barrier.

yo...you can't be serious. it is pretty clear what animals are intelligent in comparison to humans (apes) and which are not. dogs arent even in the same stratosphere. IT doesn't take a test to show brains. It takes action. Dogs are so smart they choose to be caged and on leashes. geniuses.

this thread really show which NTers have college level analytic and scientific thinking

You keep resorting back to the word INTELLIGENT but are forgetting that it is a concept created by us.

Dogs are not "intelligent" when judged on the scale WE created intelligence to be.

Until you acknowledge that WE created that concept we will continue to be at a stalemate.

who says we aren't caged ourselves.............................

Yes, intelligence is all relative.

But our scale of intelligence is the only one that exists. Dogs don't ponder that stuff. We're the only ones concerned with it so of course we're comparing dog's to us because we are the measuring stick because WE are on top of the food chain by virtue of our intelligence. What other scale are we supposed to use to measure their intelligence? Our definition is the only one that exists.

No no no, you think I'm referring to what someone knows. But that's not what an IQ is. it measures, not what you know, but what you have the ability to learn. Dogs cannot learn to talk or write. They cannot learn to build or or create. That's the basis for intelligence. Not what you know, but what you have the ability to know. NNone of the animals have the developmental abilities that human beings do. That's pretty commonly accepted, hence the big excitement in hopes of finding higher intelligence elsewhere. In terms of brain activity on earth, Humans trump all known animals. You don't need a scantron to determine that.

We don't know WHAT dogs think about Olympus. Why can't you acknowledge that fact?

IQ is STILL a human created concept.

Hell IQ tests aren't even universal for all humans ON this planet. (Some would make the argument that they are culturally biased.)

So please stop telling me how "smart" humans are based on human created metrics

Ok. Do dogs have to ability to talk? Can they learn it? Humans can. Do dogs have the ability to build? Can they learn it? Humans can. Do dogs have the ability to create scientific and technological advances? Can they learn it? Humans can.

You can sub out 'dog', for literally any animal in nature if you'd like.

We don't know what they can do in their own social networks Freeze. We simply listen to their sounds and take it just for being that. Sounds. We don't KNOW what they do with eachother.

Can Humans speak and learn the language of another animal? No. So why are we praised for being able to communicate with EACH OTHER?

How do we know a domesticated dog isn't able to communicate and learn the "language" (another HUMAN concept) of other animals.

So again, ANYTHING that yall bring up to judge "intelligence" has been a human created concept.

Animals kill for defensive purposes, for food, to protect territory, or fighting over a mate to procure their existence as a species. An animal will never kill unnecessarily.

A human being is the only living thing that will kill just for the **** of it.

Dolphins though. They do it too.

And there is no way in hell we're the #1 survivalist species on earth.

You realize there are wild dogs out there yes? Not every dog has been domesticated. They don't do **** in the wild.

you don't have to test an animal to see where its head is. just watch it. observe it from a far. Nat Geo has been doing it for decades. Recently they put a mirror in a popular spot in the jungle. tons of species went up to it. none realized it was their own reflection. self-awareness is a primitive concept.

You are completely missing what I am saying. We can stop here because we will continue to go in circles
