It's based on molds and what is currently in production at the time. It tends to coincide with what products will release in the market at the time such as PSNY getting the Xs that way, Macklemore with the VIs, etc. Of course for certain projects and celebrities they make exceptions.

would be interesting to know this. if it's his choosing I'd say he has good taste in Jordan models. 8s and 12s are much better than 11s to me and depending on the day the 10s could be too. I'd take steels over bred/cg/sj/concords 9 times out of 10

As Sole Ruler said, it is largely based on what's in production the most at the time of conception to the best of my knowledge.
Drake is a big fan of VIIIs though so I'm sure he wasn't complaining. Still want those Ray Allen PEs he used to rock on tour.
I like both, but I'd be FAR quicker to rock the Black pair. I avoid chaotic releases like the plague though so I'm out by default. These might not be releasing anyway.

If rumors are true of an ASW release I **** sure need to be in Toronto for it. Since 2012 in Orlando the biggest releases of the weekend have been allocated heavier to those city areas.
