so what was that town hall meeting about? seems like fans were just pleaded their case on why the Raiders should stay.
Basically pleading with the NFL rep to not move. Haven't heard details but I did hear Mark showed up and took a few questions...heard overall it was pretty pointless but NFL has to do it...

yeah I followed on Twitter. Mark was the only owner to show up to their respective city's meeting and he actually stayed for the whole thing too. basically people talked about how much the Raiders mean to them and what not.

was hoping that maybe we would actually get some info on something, moving to LA, new stadium or something.

moving to LA would probably generate a lot of money for teams thru TV deals and such but I'm just worried about the stadium, I don't want what's happening in Santa Clara where they not only priced out their fans they basically lost what was a large part of the 9ers mystique, the stick.

Am I the only one who thinks it'll be stupid for the NFL to move 2 teams to LA? Didn't work in the past, you really think it'll work this time around?

Not sure which team will be the one to move though, but from what I've been reading the Rams and the Chargers are the favorites and the Raiders are the team on the outside looking in...literally.

Oakland mayor trying to put together new stadium deal for Raiders
By Matier & Ross October 30, 2015

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf is working to have yet another stadium plan for the Raiders to consider — and have it ready for the NFL to review within the next couple of weeks.

“We want to keep the team, but we have to do it in a responsible way,” Schaaf said after meeting Thursday with league representatives.

The NFL reps were in Oakland for a town-hall session to hear from fans about a possible Raiders move back to Los Angeles.

Schaaf’s goal, at the very least, is to have an outline of a financial plan ready before the league’s owners begin deciding which of three teams — the Raiders, the St. Louis Rams or the San Diego Chargers — should be allowed to relocate to Los Angeles.

Toward that end, Schaaf has brought in Mitchell Ziets from Tipping Point Sports of New York to sculpt a deal that could include tax breaks and help with infrastructure for a new stadium at the Coliseum site. Other issues include whether the stadium would be part of a larger development deal, how much parking would be available and how to accommodate the A’s, who also want to build a new ballpark next door to the current stadium.

The plan would not be presented to the NFL owners, but rather to a special league committee meeting either before or after the owners gather in December.

“My understanding is that we could see something within the next couple of weeks,” said Coliseum board member Chris Dobbins.

Oakland’s most recent stadium proposal — Mayor Jean Quan’s Coliseum City retail-office-housing scheme — sank without a trace when neither the Raiders nor A’s would climb aboard.

All along, one big stadium stumbling block has been a land deal. The Raiders feel they should get it for free — something that neither the city nor Alameda County will go for.

Despite the Raiders’ wanderlust, Oakland may hold the best cards in this game. Local officials tell us team owner Mark Davis doesn’t have the votes at this point for a move — and that if anyone goes to Los Angeles, it will be the Rams or Chargers.

As we hear it, the NFL is looking for an owner with deep pockets to make the league’s return to L.A. a successful one. Davis, who is seeking a partner to bring a cash infusion to his franchise, doesn’t quite fit the bill.

So stadium deal or no, the Raiders could be stuck with Oakland for some time to come — and Oakland stuck with them as well.

After everything is al said and done I really hope they stay but if they have to move in order to get a dope stadium, then so be it...they prolly feel some type of way when other teams visiting locker looks better than their own home locker room lol...

I don't see any teams doing great initially. Feel like LA fans can be finicky about teams that don't win and win often.

I just want the RAIDERS to have a dope grass field and a stadium with no ******** clubs or anything like that.

It's sounding like it won't be us in LA. If it's true that the NFL wants a wealthy owner to be able to spend serious money in LA to make the team attractive, that ain't Mark. Which is why he's trying to bring on a minority owner who's got that cash. Doubt he gets it done in time to convince the other owners.

what a great 1st drive
