Yup. But better supplement that with heavy on the run. Especially with Suggs out. I'd want to see Latavius, reece, helu, dwyer get work in. Make the game slow down for him and keep our secondary off the field. LOL.
Why did we abandon the run game last weekend?

Cause the passing game wasn't going anywhere. Dropped passes lead to the defense loading up the box and Latavius doing nothing.

Iunno man, I honestly feel like the passing game had opportunities but Carr missed a couple of throws and early on they forced it WAAAAY to much to Amari...plus he dropped a couple. Before we knew it, it was already like 17-0 lol.

I honestly think our offense is better than what they played last sunday. They got punched in the gut didn't know how to react. The defense is what really worries me more...Mack got no pressure (double teamed). DB's or LB's couldn't cover the damn TE. Tuck was the only one who really showed up.

Raiders QB Carr got carried away in excitement of season opener

Once the how-are-you formalities were out of the way — Derek Carr’s bruised right hand is fine, thanks — the Raiders’ quarterback was asked about another pressing matter.

What happened on some of the throws that got away in the season opener Sunday? His first three passes to first-round pick Amari Cooper were incomplete, and then he missed an open Michael Crabtree by a mile on a 3rd-and-6 play early in the second quarter.

The Raiders were down 10-0 to the Bengals (in an eventual 33-13 beating) when Carr left the game midway through the second quarter.

“Yeah, I felt that I got so excited for the first week that I was throwing fastballs,” Carr said after practice Wednesday. “I was out there trying to throw through people. That was just me being excited those first couple series.”

Carr said he was also too fired up in his first NFL start, a year ago in New York against the Jets.

“You’re just so excited to play the game and you’re out there and it matters now,” Carr said. “As the game went on, the series I got hurt in actually, I was feeling good, seeing it fine, felt good throwing it and then, bam, it happened.”

And then, bam, the X-rays and MRI exam came back negative and Carr was putting his still-swollen hand to the test. He said he took about 99 percent of the snaps in practice.

“It obviously isn’t 100 percent, but it’s pretty close,” he said. “I’m not going to hurt our team and I’m not going to hurt myself further when it’s only the first week and go out and make it worse. We all felt it was good enough.”

Carr’s streak of 17 straight starts in the NFL doesn’t seem in jeopardy anymore. When the injury happened, Carr feared the worst. Now that he is better, teammates are freer with the comments that he shouldn’t be throwing out stiff-arms with his throwing arm when he scrambles.

“It’s hard to draw that line,” Carr said. “I have to be smart for the team’s sake just to protect us. Get down and get to the next play. I definitely learned from it.”

And he was plenty mad at himself on the sideline, as his hand got bigger and bigger.

“I could see it swelling up as I was standing there,” he said. “The only reason I couldn’t go back in, the pain didn’t matter, it was just the fact of physically opening my hand to grab the football I couldn’t do. If I couldn’t even hold a ball like this, I knew it wouldn’t work.”

He showed coach Jack Del Rio he could hold a football Monday morning, and Del Rio was pleased enough with Carr’s showing Wednesday.

“He went full today, so we anticipate that he’ll be ready to go,” Del Rio said.

How did Carr look?

“He was able to full practice today,” Del Rio said. “It was good to see.”

Del Rio didn’t offer much more when asked how the Raiders can open up the offense Sunday against Baltimore.

“Move the ball, score points against a really, really difficult and really tough opponent,” he said.

Del Rio had said there were deep passes in the game plan last week, but Carr was 1-for-2 on passes 10 yards or farther downfield, and backup Matt McGloin was just 1-for-5. Only two of those passes traveled 20 or more yards downfield.

Carr said it was hard to throw downfield.

“There was one time we had one called and they played soft,” he said. “It was just one of those deals where they made a good call against that. We had to check it down. It’s just one of those things, man. It’s a chess match. It’s just what do we call and what do they call with it?”

There will be some fired-up chess fans back at O.co Coliseum on Sunday, hoping to see some big moves, and at least the Raiders should have their biggest piece ready to go.

Eff Tom Brady and the Patriots. But Carr gotta get the same advice Tom was given from Bledsoe.

Not sure if you guys were watching the Bama game last night but there was a bunch of tide fans in one section wearing RAIDERS jerseys.

hope these boys can show us something, first time since 1998 Ravens hasn't had either Ray, Reed or Suggs in uniform.
