A chinese woman died on an escalator while saving her son

video is really disturbing





The two were at the AZG Mall in the central Chinese city of Jingzhou, home to about 5 million people.
An investigation found that staff had realized minutes before the incident that the escalator was malfunctioning, but didn’t take actions to examine it.
Chen Guanxin, who led the investigation as head of the city’s Work Safety Administration, said during a news conference that the escalator wasn’t under maintenance when the incident happened, local media reported.
Local outlets also reported that workers allegedly forgot to secure the panel with screws after doing repairs on the escalator.

Seen the headlines about this the other day but I didn't know it was in China. What a weird incident
 
holy ****...I couldn't imagine that happening to me...i would've threw my son like a football to safety...crazy...

Oh my goodness. That's a horrible way to die. Did not expect the floor to just open up like that. Fortunate that she was quick thinking enough to save her son. Looks like the employees were standing there to see what kind of malfunction would happen.

That's something you expect to see outta Final Destination or something :smh:

I wanna say those workers didn't really do enough to save her but at that point....you probably risk tearing her in half or something. Lose lose.
 
But why even leave the escalator running if that floor part is messed up :smh:

That woman is moronic for risking her kids safety, even after the workers yelled down not to ride the escalator up.

Incredibly sad to see the husband/father at the bottom of the escalator frantically panicking

yeah i was surprised that NT didn't cover it the day it happened

can you imagine being there and watching it go down not being able to do anything about it?

what about the cleanup? just stuff all over the cogs
