Quick Background: Meek Mill went on a Twitter rant about Nikki Minaj's Ex BF SB. During this rant he mentioned that people should stop comparing him to Drake bc Drake didn't even write his verse on RICO. Around this time Funkmaster Flex dropped the reference track for "10 Bands".

This lead to Drake Releasing the Drake Below titled "Charged UP".

After Charged UP was released the world patiently waited for Meek to respond. Initially on July 27th Meek was supposed to do an Interview with Funk Master Flex. Flex had been tweeting that he not only had additional reference tracks featuring drake, but that Meek Mill was going to drop off a Drake Diss that night. Unfortunately nothing came on Monday. Tuesday Money the world woke up to another diss from Drake title "Back to Back".

Today (7/30) Meek Finally came back with a Diss titled " Wanna Know".

After Dropping the Diss , Flex Dropped 3 more References Tracks:

R.I.C.O

Know Yourself

Now that we have two people involved, Let the battle begin

Meek's "diss" wasn't that bad.. Twitter is blowing it out of proportion.

But I do see why people are giving it such a hard time considering how long it took Meek to drop it.

I said this in the Drake thread...

"Meeks diss wasn't as great as he built it up...

I think the true factor here is that Drake had tremendous help, those reference tracks aint a good look and Im a huge supporter of dude.

This is a bad look for both parties tbh"

This.

It's equal to Charged up for me, but Meek's timing was off on this whole situation

especially when he initiated ALL of this

Now for Meek's part 2 and Drake part 3

 at us having the thread after meek's track. At least op acknowledges our laziness.

It wouldn't have been if it was the first diss or even the second after charged up but dude had that much time to find a dope beat only to hit back with 2 punch lines.

Meek's diss was terrible under the circumstances.

Unless Meek comes through with some Ether level track or something, anything:

Meek's joint was sloppy. No flow, poorly used snippets, ain't really say much, couldn't barely understand him, beat was corny. Back To Back won't be topped. Too clever, nice flow, good punchlines, memorable bars..

Just further exposed himself. Drake's got nice chunk of material if he wants it.

As odd as this might sound. Meek's diss sounded rush, which is ironic given the amount of time he had.

I really thought we weren't gonna hear nothing for another minute because he posted up talking about "I'll get to it later, I'm on a bus for 5 days to montreal".

Guess they just pulled over, remixed the Undertaker's theme, scribbled some lines and did it right there.

Meek dissed SB harder at this track than at Drake
Big Ghostfase dissed Drake harder than Meek did

Like many have said. Meeks diss wasn't bad just not good either. I'm a Drake fan and a Meek fan to a certain extent, but to think Drake singing asterisk could beat meek in a battle..... I would've never thought it would happen. This situation just took 8 minutes off of Meeks 15 minute shot clock. Then after Nikki breaks up with him, it's a rap. Vince carter gif

None of those "reference" tracks prove anything. A lot of musicians outside of hip hop will write and record a song, and then have someone else go on mic and do they're own take. It allows for the artist to hear things they might not have heard themself and from there they change and incorporate things they liked.

I suspect Drake and Quentin collaborated with Q mainly providing flow ideas, and lines here or there. But none of these are ENTIRE verses. Its not like Drake can't pen, it seems more like he seeked out Quentin for a fresh sound which while isn't a good look either, it's definately not ghost writing.

Drake has made lots of music, Q has been there for 5 songs. Give me a break Meek.

Idk maybe its me but both songs are the sam IMO. Neither is great but I don't care to listen to either again. Back2back=wannaknow. Drake is drake so people gonna gas his **** as always, but I got him winning thbattle of mediocrity. I wanna shine more light on these reference songs tho, people doing whatever to not speak about those

The rap world  ( rappers themselves) seems really quiet regarding this beef. Alot of people biting their tongues. I'm curious to see if there is something the public doesn't yet know that everyone behinds the scenes is aware of.  I don't want to speculate but maybe other people are worried about reference tracks leaking of them or something if they speak out.
