Girl is not sure why NYC let her graduate HS....

I think it's more common now for HS to be much easier unless your taking AP courses and trying to get college credit, etc.

Which doesn't set a lot of students up well for going to college. That's usually the hardest adjustment for kids is the workload. That first 1-2 year dropout rate has to be high, but as long as schools keep making that money...
 
kids need to learn STEM classes, fluff stuff like English and Social Studies doesn't do them good...

don't know how well you gonna do in STEM classes when you can't read or understand relavent pre-fix and suffixes

I was a pretty mediocre high school student, but an excellent college student. It was a better learning environment for me.

English and the Humanities help preserve culture. If everyone was on the STEM tip, the value of those degrees would plummet as the field would be watered down with too many qualified people.

As far as the girl in the story goes, I don't know her end game is here.

Lol not at all surprised Bryant is trash...but this happens in a lot of schools trust me teachers would just give failing kids 65s to get them to graduate
 
So this ****** skipped classes, failed miserably (hs courses for christ's sake) and now she want's to get motivated? when it's time to blame someone? idiot.

This pretty much what happened to me. They called me into the office and told I don't have enough credits to graduate but if I can pull a B average in the final semester of my senior year they will let me graduate. I was shocked they could do that. I think I was only 1 or 2 credits short tho
