"Your daughter Kidada was engaged to Tupac Shakur when he was killed. How does a father react to a potential son-in-law with such a dangerous reputation?"
I wasn’t happy at first. He’d attacked me for having all these white wives. And my daughter Rashida, who was at Harvard, wrote a letter to The Source taking him apart. I remember one night I was dropping Rashida at Jerry’s delicatessen, and Tupac was talking to Kidada because he was falling in love with her then. Like an idiot, I went over to him, put two arms on his shoulders and said, “Pac, we gotta sit down and talk, man.” If he had had a gun, I would’ve been done. But we talked. He apologized. We became very close after that. Once, I was having a date at the Hotel Bel-Air, and he came by and told the waiter that he would be back, he was going home to put on a tie.
Sounds like someone who's maturing and becoming a better person to me. Quincy's on video for 4 and a half minutes speaking nothing but good things about Pac. Praising his talent and his heart even if it was misguided at times and the measures he took to achieve things were drastic.

So what's the beef?

This thread turned into gossip hour at the salon. What's the point of talking about some of this stuff and not the bigger picture?

Dudes lowkey want to show off how close they are to da streets by claiming to know everything about Tupac's street cred or lack therof

The man was a hyper agressive poet with an occasional good message lol. Let's just remember him as such

I did say with the exception of a few artists. You sound bitter though with the slander against Pac.

Pac still made songs like Unconditional Love, Better Dayz, Wonda Why They Call U B, Krazy, etc. once he got with the Row. So he was still making uplifting music aside from that Death Row sound.
Wonder why they call U B was uplifting? >D

Maybe it's not an uplifting song but he definitely touched on some issues if you listen to more than just the hook.

It's like this Pac was a follower in NY and LA he got ran outta NY and real LA street dudes took his life thats Respect?

So it's silly to say real street dudes respected him when he was always a victim at the hands of real street dudes...

Pac had just as much street cred as Chris Brown has today...

Damn. That's harsh.

Alot of trivial stuff being discussed here, but the stuff about Q and Pac is well documented. Rashida stepped in and wrote a lengthy letter directed towards Pac. It got his attention, he apologized, owned up to it and made amends with the family later on. What was funny about all of this is that Pac was dating Madonna during that time, but he wasn't comfortable with the public's perception of their relationship.

No different than Kendrick pretending to be a blood and then acting tryna uplift the community. Lil 5'5 dude would get ran up on in the wrong part of LA. It's what rappers do.

Hell of a rapper tho.

Tupac was definitely overrated in everything he did.

Films: What did he have that made him such a great actor? Ever since 'Juice' came out, people thought he was so awesome. All the follow up films since then have been mediocore to garbage.

Music: What album did he have that wasn't mediocore or garbage apart from 'Me Against the World'?

Street cred: He basically got ran out of NY like Compton Prince said. He kind of ran out of options where to go, he had to settle with LA because at that time, they were the most notorious in the streets and the Rap industry. He needed protection.

Guy was alright.

"All Eyez on Me" had more hits than most rappers of today have in their career.

No, he's black.

Kendrick from the Nellas if anything he not tryna show it IMO

Weren't u the same dude praising Tim dogs F Compton track?
Yes, I am. What's your point? That song was dope as hell. He spoke the truth and all them fools from the West Coast didn't do jack. "Your bark was kinda vicious, but them rhymes you was kickin' was quite booty licious". Reaally? LMao that's a wack *** diss. Then MC Eiht did a wack little line and so did Quik. All them brothers were wack. Tim Dog went hard on that track.

Kendrick is actually affiliated tho and it has nothing to do with his celebrity.

another suspicious thing about his death was his driver license says he was 5'10 168 but his actual death certificate reads that he died 6'0 215. big difference.

That's not a mistake. That's his fans pumping him up so much.

What does size have to do with anything?

If he was 5'7", 165lbs, looking as pretty as he was, would you be scared to run up on him if you were gully? Probably not, unless you're about the same stature inside and out.

Tupac was not a fighter. Almost all his fights he got into he lost except the one where he jumped the dude in Vegas. He even said he went back up to his room with his sisters and cousins and he was so elated that he had the power to knock a brother out.
Ayoooo who's man is this?
