How old is too old to kiss your child?

The difference between the cheek/forehead and lips is pretty vast in my perception. If that AP pic was on the forehead/cheek i wouldnt say anything was weird about the pic

Maybe I just wasnt kissed enough as a kid

my son is about to be 13 and I still kiss him, I love my kids to death and I see nothing wrong with it.

Its a peck, thats it.

In my eyes, people who think this is nasty probably have never loved a child or have issues.
Pretty much how I feel. I tell them boys everyday I love them, they probably get tired of hearing it too

Never know what might happen. When we part ways I love you is the last thing he'll hear from me every time

I may not kiss my kids on the lips, but I'll always kiss them and show them affection.

Why would any parent NOT give their kids a kiss on the forehead or cheek at times?

I can understand not giving a peck on the lips after a certain age, but not being able to kiss their forehead/cheek?  That's all sorts of effed up to me.  My daughter will always get a kiss on the forehead before bed and when I leave for work.

So, from what I am reading, NOT doing it is messed up? Not kissing them at all? Explain please because I can't agree

But even to entertain what he said, if there is a parent that NEVER kisses their child, I am not sure you can just say that it is messed up. What if that person is just a germaphobe, which many people are, and the child still gets lots of love and attention, and hugs. Not kissing the child doesn't really say anything about the parent

While kissing is just one form of affection, it is also one of the most personal physical forms of affection between parent/child.

In my opinion, a child that has never received a kiss from a parent is lacking a pretty personal form of affection.  But that's just me.

You didn't get kissed as a child, Jemele?  It really is so cold in the D, huh?

Right.  But that was the question that was posed....
Didn't mean to make it specifically about kissing on the lips. This applies to kissing on the forehead/cheek EDIT: as well.

If you coddle your kid too much, especially the boys, they're more inclined to grow up pacified and entitled, I think. Probably why you got a lot of punks growing up these days.

Lacking is one thing. Being effed up is another. That's almost like an argument about spanking -- doing it (or not doing it) isn't effed up, its just a difference in choice. I don't want to turn this into that kind of argument though lol.

When I have kids I will ALWAYS kiss them but kissing on the lips will stop at a very young age like 3. Foreheads/cheeks are forever, b.
That's what you think but once they get to about 12, they won't even let you hug them on a consistent bases.

Agreed. Grown men still have non-sexual ******* in their mouthes

You said it is an EFFED up situation. Of course there is no formula for raising kids so there is no right or wrong answer. But I don't think a child not getting enough KISSES (assuming he IS getting enough love and attention) will be affected negatively.

But again, we don't know

Only people that are messed up in the head would see something wrong... :smh:
