2015 NFC North Trash Talk Thread: GB loses Div Rd, MIN loses WC Rd, DET/CHI N/A

Packers are better than the Lions.

This dude said every team in the league.

Who said what?

Teddy Bridgewater? What? I mean it's not even like T.B. is even getting "edged out" here. He hasn't been in the conversation for top four now or in the past. Fourth is John Sullivan, one of the best centers in the league - has been that for multiple seasons now. Out for first nine weeks of 2015.

Golden Tate HAS to show up Monday night, no if, ands, or buts about it. I'm expecting a huge game outta him. We still got a shot my dudes, it's looking dark but it's still early in the season . A win over Seattle in Seattle would be a big confidence boost for the team.

I don't know about falling off just yet, but they sure as **** aren't clicking. They don't look great at all on offense. Defense seems a step slower so far. They definitely aren't "back" as some have already said...Chicago is weak as hell and they got them at home. Seattle has a long ways to go to be back.

The game will probably be ugly, but close.

These boys have made me look COMPLETELY ******ed so far so I'm leery about making a pick but I can't count them out of it yet. Seattle isn't the team they were last year by any stretch of the imagination. With this being Tate's 1st time back in Seattle and that lil rant he just went on, he should be extra motivated. Hopefully Megatron been hearing these whispers of dudes saying he fell off, one of these dudes has to show up and get the passing game going. We need to change the play calling this game. A barrage of screens isn't going to get us anywhere but another L. I'm praying Levy makes his season debut this game as well, he would be a huge difference maker.

Adam Jahns @adamjahns
#Bears backup QB Jimmy Clausen also will meet the media today. Jay Cutler (hamstring) called himself day-to-day.

Adam Jahns @adamjahns
#Bears QB Jay Cutler joked about media reports regarding his injury status: "What's the report this week? I'm out, right? So I'm out."

Loved Vereen at UM. Hopefully he can find his way onto a special teams unit.

He's from Cali so when he said signing with the Vikings practice squad was a "bang-bang" thing I was surprised he didn't consider any of the teams closer to home. He loved it in Minnesota, but still would have guessed he would have at least considered other options, so it's possible there were few others but who's to say I suppose? He's on the squad now, whatever.

Despite what I think and have always about him and his game when it comes to the NFL, you can't lose much by picking up a fourth-round pick from one year ago for the purposes of stashing on a practice squad of all places. Low risk.

Minnesota Vikings @Vikings 1m
Coach Zimmer says "there's a chance both" WR's Jarius Wright and Charles Johnson play on Sunday.

Need everybody.

Good news:

Adam Jahns @adamjahns 1m
#Bears WR Alshon Jeffery says his calf is no longer an issue. He said it's "fine." He's just got a hamstring concern right now.

Dan Wiederer @danwiederer
Bears WR Alshon Jeffery still working through his hamstring issue but said today his calf feels normal again.

Dan Wiederer @danwiederer 1m
Bears RT Kyle Long said today that he figures to play Sunday without a club on his right hand. That's an obvious plus.

And then there's:

Dave Birkett @davebirkett 1m
Carroll on guys calling out Lions' plays: Wish we could find those same things they're talking about..I don't see what they're talking about

@RobDemovsky: McCarthy said only "slight" hope that WR Davante Adams plays Sunday at SF. S Morgan Burnett is "getting closer."

Vikings: With S Andrew Sendejo out, Robert Blanton likely in

By Chris Tomasson
ctomasson@pioneerpress.com

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said last month that strong safety Robert Blanton tries to make big plays too often. Blanton, though, doesn't consider that an issue.

"I don't think it's a concern, no," Blanton said Friday.

Regardless, Blanton figures to be back in the starting lineup Sunday at Denver. The Vikings on Friday ruled Andrew Sendejo out because of a left knee injury suffered last Sunday against San Diego.

Blanton started all 16 games last season and all five exhibition games this year but lost his job to Sendejo before the regular-season opener Sept. 14 at San Francisco.

"I just go out there and do my job," Blanton said.

Zimmer hasn't announced who will start at strong safety against the Broncos but was asked what Blanton will need to do if he plays.

"Just do what we ask him to do, pretty simple,' Zimmer said.

Blanton didn't play a single defensive snap Sept. 20 against Detroit before getting in for 23 plays against the Chargers after Sendejo was hurt. Zimmer said Blanton "was more consistent last week."

Zimmer, Edwards, one or the other or both - clearly mad at Blanton for what he said in response to Zimmer saying "he tries to make big plays too often." Zero snaps against Detroit is all you need to know.

Who was in FA at S, I gotta check that. Feel like they could have allocated more money to there. They signed Taylor Mays ( ) and then released him. I don't care about him (he was picked up by the Raiders off the street, they started him right away, he was pulled at halftime of his first game  ) but at least getting anybody who is league average-to-decent to put opposite Harrison Smith would bring some stabilization to that spot. It's literally been Blanton-Sendejo-Blanton-Sendejo since August non-stop. Thank god for the pass rush. Had we played htese two QBs back-to-back, two of the most tenured under center in all of football and have total control of their offense, we'd still let up big plays.

Pass rush was so good against S.D. that Philip Rivers had like three seconds, consistently. Without that, against QBs that can deviate to leverage another team's weak link in the secondary - those who have that trust from a coach - will eventually strike big. That's where even a decent safety would help. Sendejo's had good and bad (embodiment of spearing, it's embarrassing how bad it is by the way). Blanton's the same, he's had good and bad appearances so far through three games.

I think Minnesota can keep it close tomorrow, but I see the Broncos winning. Minnesota could pull it off, but I don't know if their offense can string together 4 perfect and efficient quarters.

Vikings defensive strength thus far is their pass rush, so it could make things more challenging for Manning, but he's just so damn hard to sack. Big plus that Rhodes is playing, but he has his work cut out for him. All in all it should be a good game.

Their defense is the best in the NFL though...Sure, the offense probably isn't the best its been by a good margin, but they're still a tough football team and I don't know if Minnesota's youth is ready for this kind of challenge. Of course, I hope I'm wrong, but I still think Denver is a very good football team.

I'm scared for Peyton tomorrow. Barr been killing qbs these last couple weeks.. And that line hasnt been protecting Manning all that well and a few of them were on the injury report earlier in the week

Love how Lions fans are up in arms about essentially, "these teams ain't that great," like ya'll would have a clue anyway...Maybe if I were clueless it'd help my stress levels too...forreal?

Bottom feeders...just quit it.
