What does it mean to you? Not what is hiphop, as that's really broad. just what it means to you.
1. Bringing awareness to the masses of a lifestyle or a struggle that they are not a part of?
(Bring em in my life, bring me in my life, bring em in my life, Q)
(you love to hear how the thugs live in worry, duck down in car seats, heat is mandatory,Nas)
That type, follows the film format, u r the main star in your life and it's portrayed to an audience that wants to feel ur experience.
2. Is it a form of expression regardless whether you are bringing an audience to your own personal experiences. It's more just about talking and putting what everyone thinks into music.
3. Entertainment purposes only. No regard for whether these are topics of current events or not, just let me vibe out. No story.
4. IDGAF-hiphop heads need to understand music is music and drop all these prerequisite we have
it's been on my mind lately with all what's happening in our scene. Hiphop fans hold it to the highest regard due to its bohemian nature. But it seems like the industry can pretty much create a persona to fit all your needs. Package it and market it to appeal to all the categories listed above. Especially with how huge hip hop is right now and how much of an influence it has on pop culture.
