Arian Foster Let It Be Known That He Is A Non-Believer

this is what comes from people clueless enough to believe in faith rather than logical thought.

Lol I was trying so hard to laugh but this sh made me so mad.

Most people who suffer are poor and minority populations. I guess we can all live with that.
its disgusting

the irony is these same people are reading about women in the middle east thinking "poor girl, its so evil how their religion exploits them like this"

Lol someone on my Facebook posted a story of a man converting from Christianity to Islam. The religious ignorance in third world countries is seasoned, there's no voice of reason in places like Iran and the Congo.

Some of the comments were along the lines of I hope your wife's love is worth burning for all eternity. As if they are sure Christianity is the correct religion not Islam.
One one side people are mad for someone choosing one imaginary mindset over the other while on the other side dude changed his belief system for a woman

I could say the same thing to you, why do you care what Christians believe? How is it your concern?
I don't.

In a perfect world, it wouldn't concern me at all but it's clear to see in the world today and throughout history how religious beliefs have harmed humanity. It's not just Christian beliefs btw. While there may have been some implications and allusions to it overall the Christian GOD hasn't been brought up much at all. Not that it would matter either way.

As far as recent discussions though, it's just been an effort to show one poster his error in thinking and close minded flawed reasoning. He's been using circular logic for a good min so it seems like a lost cause.

I guess it just bothers me to see the oversimplification and close mindedness in most of these type of threads on the part of atheists.
We probably got different definitions on close mindedness then.

I've come to grips a long time ago with the way religious people think, I've had that argument plenty, it's like rehab, it's not gonna work if you force it before they're ready.
Nah, I feel in public forums a display of sound logic to someone refusing to use it or acknowledge is a good dose of reality. It might not immediately change the person it question but there's hundreds if not thousands of lurkers who are undecided that actually look this stuff up and learn something. Each one, teach one.

Like an atheist, what is sufficient explanation for religion is not enough for me, I want to know more, how. Thats the next logical intellectual progression to me. But everyone always seems stuck on beating a dead horse.
You can do that. Go make that thread or at least have a much more tactful approach in trying to start that discussion in other threads.

I aint with none of that spirituality **** though. Just another cop out imo.
If I want to talk about religious texts as allegory, no one wants to do that. If i want to talk about the various frequencies that emanate from our bodies carrying genetic code, feelings, emotions, biological data ect... unique to the individual at a given time and how that may relate to a soul. How about the inexplicable and inextricable way in which the creation of matter is linked to the perception of matter. How do the laws of physics behave on a barren earth?
Like you said you can't force it.

Nobody wants to talk about some of that nonsense anyway. A soul is no different than ghost talk to me.
But its always spaghetti monster this, carbon dating that. Focusing the science and logic on the narrowest scope possible and towards an end we already KNOW the answer to.
Who is this we?

You may already be prepared for the better tomorrow but not everyone KNOWS this. It's pure folly to pretend like everyone does.

Welp guys, I tried. I was able to get you to deviate from the script for a page or two but we're right back to debunking god. I suppose thats a much easier debate for you all to have/win. To obsess over such easily disprovable claims seems sophomoric to me. My initial question was if anybody cared what was in the box, or if you just cared that religion/god is not in the box. I think I got my answer.

FYI just because YOU don't know or are unaware of certain things doesn't mean they haven't been experimentally proven. I did not bring up conspiracy, or illuminati or ghosts. I brought up science. But unless science is being used to debunk the bible it doesn't seem to be of much interest to folks in here beyond that. To each his own I guess.

So many of y'all are stuck on the Bible. You see an inaccuracy in the Torah, Bible or Koran therefore the God doesn't exist.

Ignoring the concept of God has been around since we become humans

You say God is man-made construct, so like 150,000 years ago, did one chief sit down in a field and thought.... "Yeah... the I'm going to make God...this will really get them"

Or was it shown to mankind.

Lets entertain the premise, the chief made up "the concept of God" where did that thought come from?

Thats a huge leap from basic self awareness to a complex greater than self

I know the answer will be the need to explain the unknown but some native cultures have been found that have no concept of God.

That is to me says the concept of God isn't instinctive to human thought

FYI just because YOU don't know or are unaware of certain things doesn't mean they haven't been experimentally proven.
See this is just like the GOD claims.

If you can prove souls exist or show me where it's proven then do it. If not what are we talking about? I'm straight up asking and you're response is just because you don't know doesn't mean it hasn't been proven. If something has been proven it shouldn't be hard to repeat that.

Aware me. You wasted a few posts talking about progression and furthering discussion. Show me the concrete proof of what you're claiming exists. Especially if you're saying they're experimentally been proven. If that was true then it'd be widespread knowledge wouldn't it?

To each his own seems to be the complete opposite of what you've been spewing earlier.

Hey buddy...I hope you're having a good day and I mean that.

I feel blessed that we live in a country and have the internet, where we can have civil discussions like this. I know that sounds hokey.

When you have conversations about religion in real life, it becomes really weird and really awkward fast

Putting religion aside or not doesn't change the facts.

Ignoring the concept of God has been around since we become humans
That's not proof of anything.

We all know that human beings will try to come up with their own answers when they can't explain something. The concept of GOD existing for a long time doesn't mean anything other than that.

You say God is man-made construct, so like 150,000 years ago, did one chief sit down in a field and thought.... "Yeah... the I'm going to make God...this will really get them"

Why are you talking like "man made construct" has some bias or agenda behind it? A man made construct is self explanatory. It's just a fact if something is a man made construct.

The chief just tried to explain something else nobody else could along with every other person whose solely used their imagination to explain things they could not explain.
Lets entertain the premise, the chief made up "the concept of God" where did that thought come from?
Where is this really going?

Do you want to discuss how the mind works? Imagination? A metaphysical conversation? I won't do that with you because I don't believe you know much about philosophy but go ahead and make stuff up or misunderstand terms and theories.

Thats a huge leap from basic self awareness to a complex greater than self
No it is not. We live on Earth. Nature is greater than self. If human beings can recognize a hurricane is bigger than them, see a huge mountain that appears unclimbable, or see what appears to be an endless vast ocean they can imagine many great things. It is our experiences and environment that foster our imagination. It's only critical thought, investigation, and experimentation that rule out what's not possible.

I know the answer will be the need to explain the unknown but some native cultures have been found that have no concept of God.

That is to me says the concept of God isn't instinctive to human thought
There is a leap in logic for you to reach that conclusion.

Never said there was proof souls exist. I was referring to the subjects I mentioned earlier. The ones you claimed are a cop out and that nobody wants to talk about. Not gonna waste time gathering sources if it's gonna fall on deaf ears. If your truly interested there's enough there for you to do your research.

If the extent of a soul is some translucent, gasous, personification of a dead person then I wouldn't hold my breath for proof. If you all can get away from what the Bible tells you a soul is, what the Bible tells you afterlife is it might actually be a discussion worth having. There might be some useful science to that end. Frequencies carrying unique biological and genetic info are transmitted from our bodies out into the universe faster than the speed of light, our bodies are also able to receive these same signal frequencies. That has been proven. You can debate the knowledge and relegate it to the realm of Jesus and the bible or you can get off that one trick pony and try to learn something new.

Yeah I said spirituality is a cop out. I said to go make a thread if you want to talk about that. If you bring it up here and nobody engages you about it that's a sign nobody here wants to talk about it with you.

I didn't say say anything about them not being real.

Not gonna waste time gathering sources if it's gonna fall on deaf ears.
Sources of what?

If your truly interested there's enough there for you to do your research.
Interested in what? If you're still talking about the stuff I said was a cop out I think you missed what I mean when I addressed it.

If this:
various frequencies that emanate from our bodies carrying genetic code, feelings, emotions, biological data ect... unique to the individual at a given time and how that may relate to a soul. How about the inexplicable and inextricable way in which the creation of matter is linked to the perception of matter. How do the laws of physics behave on a barren earth?
Is what you wanna talk about go make a thread. See how it goes. If nobody ever really wants to get that discussion going after several attempts I think you got your answer. Perhaps go to another forum.

I'm not particularly interested in most of those things as discussion topics at least in the way you've brought them up.

If the extent of a soul is some translucent, gasous, personification of a dead person then I wouldn't hold my breath for proof.
If that's your take on a soul then I don't see why you'd bring it up knowing you couldn't prove it.
If you all can get away from what the Bible tells you a soul is, what the Bible tells you afterlife is it might actually be a discussion worth having.
Why are you assuming everything goes back to the bible?

If you want to bring up souls, first at least describe what that is instead of pretending everyone has the same exact definition of it. Then go about proving it. Before you go attaching your personal definition to some other stuff.
There might be some useful science to that end. Frequencies carrying unique biological and genetic info are transmitted from our bodies out into the universe faster than the speed of light, our bodies are also able to receive these same signal frequencies. That has been proven.
What's the name of this science?

Can I get a link or something?

It's been proven that there are frequencies (from our bodies) traveling faster than the speed of light? When was this proven?

Do you even know what you're saying?

You can debate the knowledge and relegate it to the realm of Jesus and the bible or you can get off that one trick pony and try to learn something new.
You seem to be the one really hung up on Jesus and the bible. What's been debated goes for any religion.

This also goes for any other thing you want to pretend has a scientific backing that's just made up and sounds good in the context of bull ****.

It's simple.

1. State your claim
2. Present your argument
3. State your conclusion

We can only have opinions and discussion on topics that have been verified by the scientific method? It's one thing to ignore the method, it's another to delve into gray areas. I'd prefer to discuss the gaps in the method intelligently without using the bible.

Everything on this planet emits waves and carries those frequencies you speak of. Apparently rocks, dirt and plants have a soul. Dude is trying to extrapolate scientific phenomena he clearly knows nothing of to explain biblical supernatural entities.

Rocks has genes? I was unaware. It's funny cause you're the one stuck on biblical entities and you're the one who clearly knows nothing of the scientific phenomenon Lol.

Today, you're glad we have internet. If this was 100+ years years ago you would call it the work of the devil.

Same to you man

Has the distinct feel of some youtube pseudoscience

I'll wait for the proof tho

I saw when you called him out earlier about it  I'm just waiting for confirmation since he's so open in admitting it.

Dude straight up said it's been experimentally proven. Reminds me of when one of the Muslim NTers tried to tell me it was proven that Islam was the oldest religion and the Quran dated before the other 2 Abrahamic religions and his proof was a youtube vid of other Muslims claiming that was indeed the truth.

So you want a claim more claims? Pass

Thoughts?
‪#‎testimony‬ God is so good. A lady at my church was telling me about how she was in the house one day, years ago, and she was about to go to Landover Mall. Out of nowhere, a male voice said to her, "Don't go to Landover Mall." She was taken aback for a moment, so she put some clothes in the washer, did some chores, then wrote it off and decided to go to the mall.

Once again, the male voice told her clear as day, "Don't go to Landover Mall." She listened. Later, she turned on the news and a lady was killed in the Parking Lot of Landover mall around the same time she would have been there. My Lord, it could have been her. AMAZING how God looks out for His children. He preserves, He protects, and He Saves. Won't you come?

Also, midi-chlorians.
thats science b

everything was better when faith was all we had when dealing with the force
