I feel like we should donate for the efforts in this thread.
I wish we could harness these powers for good, but selling rep privileges isn't a viable option. As it stands, reputation points per day isn't something that we can increase on a per user or class basis.Serously. @Methodical Management if you had a way to donate to get more reps I'd honestly be all over it. Make these laughs make change.
@OGbobbyjohnson773 and @lobo2mybeats have my sides hurting.
As much as we'd love to incorporate a charitable component to this, or allow users to pledge for new .gifs/videos as part of a future group fundraiser, this just isn't something you can reasonably ask people to replicate on demand. Threads like this, [thread="329409"]Carlos Boozer Is Single Handedly Keeping Black Ice In Business[/thread] , etc. occur organically. It's just a perfect storm. Enjoy it.
You can always issue more reputation points tomorrow.
They really aren't personal attacks. What little could be considered mean-spirited or disrespectful is only deprecating the business.
If one of the photography thread regulars plunked a $3,000 Canon down on a picnic table and announced the launch of his IPO, it's not a rule violation to comment on the absurdity or grandiosity of that notion. Initially, I got the sense that the topic post was done tongue-in-cheek to begin with, not as an earnest attempt to pitch readers an "investment opportunity." We'll try to ensure that it remains all in good fun.
We did have a couple of users post some truly inexcusable content in here, and they were quickly shown to the exit.
