Netherlands :smh: Blow the ******* team up. Fire everyone. Can't believe they've fallen so far in such a short time. RvP is a great scapegoat, but he's not the problem. There's always some *****ing behind the scenes that only France can rival, and the management can't seem to get the players' best performance on the field despite this. So Blind and Co need to go.

The defense has been horrible, when they're usually only bad enough that the offense can hide their deficiencies. With no signs of even trying to improve this, there's no chance this team makes noise in 3 years, let alone the Euro's. Blow up the backline and find decent CBs. Also a decent keeper. Give Krul the full time job; Cillesen and Zoet suck.

The layoff next summer might be the best thing to happen to the modern Dutch. It'll wash the team of old has-beens (looking at you Wesley and Robin) or old age (Robben) and give the youth a chance. There's plenty of talent coming up, and watching from the bench as the old guard get plowed next summer won't help them. But this may get them chances in friendlies or WC qualifying; at the least, the current team won't be out there desperately hanging on and being relied upon by a useless coaching staff.

The future has to happen now, and it needs a creative coach to guide it in successfully. No more hoping RvP, Robben, Huntelaar, and Sneijder can carry this team. They can't.

I still got love for you tho, it's all family in here besides Truth-Serum.
Haha I know I get a bit emotional with Arsenal... Consistent mediocrity is very frustrating lol

edit: my apologies for being confrontational, I will chill out.

Ozil second most Assists in European history at the age of 26.... Wicked overrated... Only needs 3 more to tie Riquelme. He's terribly inconsistent though

He's quality no doubt, but there are too many games where you forget he is even on the field. Hazard has had a bunch of these games this season :smh:

His brain never goes anywhere. A lot of his contributions go unnoticed. His understanding of timing and space is on an entirely different level.

Lots of closet Chicharito fans in here. 8)

A lot of it has to do with his teammates, not named Alexis, not being able to finish his set ups. There's been countless times where I see Ö make the play that leads to a possible goal scoring opportunity or a possible assist itself and his teammates can't finish. Granted his own finishing is still doo doo and he can't make it past the 75th minute  , but blaming him for the lack of talent around him is dumb.

Didn't get around to posting this past weekend but, EL TRI :smokin

Raul Jimenez with back 2 back big plays. :pimp:

 Emmanuel Mas just injured Nestor Ortigoza in the Argentina/Paraguay qualifier. These two are teammates for San Lorenzo. That probably just guaranteed Boca the Argentine title this season :smh:

These dudes are young and flourishing, can we lay all the overrated, overhyped same old recycled banter for a rest? I promised to stay away till the league matches are back but the last few pages have been this player, that player, this country, Argentina overrated like wut?

You got to forgive me Ice, but this sounds like one of those answers someone gives when there is nothing tangible to show. I love the clever way he passes the ball around, but I've noticed when Arsenal is losing, he just stops running back on defense or makes these nonchalant passes that lack any effort behind them. I loved his game during the 2010 World Cup and at Real, but his inconsistency at Arsenal is disgraceful to me. I might be being to hard on him but I really had high expectations for him

I wouldn't call chicha overrated. I think the reason he's "popular", at least among mexican fans, is simply because of his name. it's catchy and easy to remember. Plus the fact that he's a striker helps as well imo.
dude has always been known as nothing more than a goal poacher, and was actually one of the reasons why i used to hate on him back in the day, but at the end of the day he seems like a genuinely good dude and most of us just want him to flourish, that's all.

He's popular because he's the most recent Mexican to play for giant clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid. The last one I can think of before him is Rafa Marquez for Barcelona, but defenders aren't as "sexy" as strikers.

Germany's tendency to choke in the Euro Cup
Along with Spain, Germany has the most Euro titles of all (3). They've also traditionally advanced the furthest in the tournament of all nations. They've been to the final 6 times, no one else has been in more than 4 and they've had 8 top 4 finishes, no one else has more than 6:

Historically, they've been the most consistent team in both the European and World cups. Never count them out. But it is interesting that France have won the two previous tournaments on their soil, World Cup 1998 and Euro 1984.

The fact that they consistently make it deep into the tourney and have only managed to win it 3 times means that they choked every single one of those other times.
