I know there's a few Hong Kong natives in this thread, so I was wondering what good bars I can hit up to watch football around here. My American born HK descendant friends are worthless cause they obviously have no idea where anything is

And damn, these start times for the Champions League are brutal out here. 3:45 AM

Thanks. I'm in Kowloon for the week, and it looks like I'm about 40 mins away via metro/20 by car. Are cabs/Uber affordable out here?

I'm Asian as well as Portuguese and love traveling in Asia a lot more than anywhere in Europe other than Portugal and Spain :pimp:. The only thing is that I wouldn't want to live anywhere out here due to the hellish summers. Man I hated summer vacations as a kid cause it would often mean spending 2-3 months in that awful heat and humidity combo, and that was back in the day when my relatives couldn't afford air conditioning...

my brother is in taipei for the week. are there any good legit jersey shops around there? I wanna have him grab me some stuff while he's there haha

You can get pretty much anywhere on the MTR (subway). I didn't do uber out there, but cabs are pretty cheap in HK. My Cantonese is pretty bad but I was able to get by with communicating with the drivers.

Sinner Sinner can prob get you sorted out better than I can tbh and certainly has better suggestions than hitting up Lan Kwai Fong

I'm actually the opposite, I've enjoyed my time in Europe way more than in Asia for some reason.

Fortunately for me, everyone in seasons uses Barca, Real, and Bayern.

Seriously, takes me forever to find a match when I'm trying to run with Palace honestly with they'd go back to you being able to match any star level with another, I do agree in regards to the possession comment, especially when playing on WC and Legendary. I adjusted the sliders using a set provided from Operation Sports and in the FIFA 16 thread here and it made it a whole lot better. Will be picking up PES when it goes on sale though, gonna be dropping Euro 2016 content free to users as well since they have the license, wish it had Bundesliga though without having to create it yourself.

 My LKF-days ended years ago!

The problem with watching footy here is that, like you said, the Champions League starts at 3:45AM.  Most bars and pubs won't broadcast it, especially since it's also mid-week.  It's a lot better for the European domestic leagues cuz the games are on the weekends, plus for say the EPL, the early games are at around 8PM.

I used to go to the Dickens Bar at the Excelsior in Causeway Bay a lot for the games.  Nowadays, I just watch it at home...

Go to macau if you've never been to check out what's left of the Portuguese.

Random thinking, but I was just watching TFR and they were recapping the past weekend as we all watched the games and know what already happened. But I thought about Liverpool, and how well they played against Man City this past weekend. Klopp took this broken assortment of players who didn't even look like they could play a pickup game together, and turned them into a 90 minute giant beater.

Thats ******* scary.

And we joke about who he'll bring in from Dortmund, but what if he really does? What if he can turn this club around and qualify for CL next year? What if he can attract Reus or Batman and bring his philosophy to life in the BPL? And it doesn't even have to be them, just someone of that quality?

Brah, we're all ****** if Klopp gets his way.

Now granted, Man City isn't perfect. On paper they are, but they have flaws just like any other team, but Liverpool thoroughly whooped their *** Saturday. It was a beating so significant that it made people change from the Classico to watch a past prime Liverpool and Man City... A game that was supposed to be a wash.

If Liverpool can get a string of consistent wins, they could be right there in the top 4 by the end of the season.

A even if a healthy Sturridge is a short lived experience, having him when he is healthy is a good enough threat right now as the table stands. Chelsea are one more loss away from being where they were last week, so really its a matter of if Leicester City can hold on to their position in the top 4.

Right now it looks like Pool wants to bring Icardi from Inter, only strengthening their attack.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not just signing next years trophy over to Liverpool, but I would like to see how the next few weeks go. And definitely how they stack up by next spring. I really think this may be a real turning point for their club. They might be atop of the league as early as next year if they make the right signings next summer.

We need a ******* defensive mid and a striker... Right now. And a 100 pack of bandaids.

Thats number 1 seat will be handed around a few times before its all over. I just don't want us to lose this number 4 spot.

Either that, or they just caught City on a bad day.

Why does this all seem like a foreign concept to you? You do realize that Liverpool is still one of the largest and richest clubs in the world right? You act like we aren't capable of bringing in top talent, yet we've seen the likes of Fernando Torres (when he was good), Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso, and Javier Mascherano go through Liverpool. We should have won the league two years ago for Christ's sake. But to answer your question, yes. We're here, and we're here to stay.

Liverpool aren't winning the league anytime soon. In fact i'm that sure that I will delete my account if they win it within 3 years.

Realistically if 'Pool get maybe 1-2 top players they have the class to challenge for the league.

Hypothetical. Sturridge + Benteke + Coutinho is scary. If all three some how stay healthy and are in form. If jordan henderson comes back and fits in. I honestly really like Jordan Ibe and Firmino if they can fit in. Add 1-2 class attacking threats....i don't see why they challenge for the title.

All of this is obviously a hypothetical. Its like saying if Aguero stays healthy a whole season City will easily win the title. Probably true....but never happens

That West Ham & East Ham joke still has me

Hope the Hog recovers

Also wanted to ask, for those who play FIFA alot, do you think this years game is terrible?
Its not terrible, just waaaay too gimicky. Defense is too automated, you can put down your controller and your AI will track and shadow your opponent. Autotackles, auto interceptions, auto deflections and if you get through all that the GK will make some ungodly reaction save.

Lots of scripting too but that can be saved for another discussion. EA went away from the basics so anyone can pick up the sticks and feel like they are world class in defending.

Career mode at times is awful. You play teams like MK Dons, Real Betis, and so on and they all play the same and play possession tiki taka like they are Barcelona. The player stats don't even matter like finishing/defending/passing they will be heavily slided in favor of the opponent. Too unrealistic.

To end my rant, its not a terrible game, its a frusterating game. I want to play a sports game to have fun and score amazing goals and pick out genius passes instead of mentally trying to pick apart a defense.

I'm not a Liverpool fan. Any success of a team I don't support is a foreign concept to me.

 then I guess you've seen nothing but foreign concepts since 2004

Read that Liverpool were offered Pato

Klopp might get the Joga Bonito flowing over there with Coutinho, Firminho, Pato

Then there's Sturridge and Benteke

In my Fifa career mode Liverpool always sign Subotic :nerd:

And with all of those great players they brought in the past, they have yet to win a Premier League title and probably wont win one in the next decade

I'm going to unhumbly brag that I'm a really good FIFA player. I've won division 1 in a single attempt for 4 or 5 years running.

I've only played the demos of both, but FIFA this year is garbage, and PES is without a doubt the game to get. And I've never played or owned a PES game before this years demo.

Someone complained about CPU having crazy possession in FIFA, in PES they'll actually play like the other team. When you play Juve the knock long balls to their target strikers. In FIFA the cpu just plays the lamest most conservative passes, and really plays like a computer.

I'm waiting for it to go on sale then investing in PES, but I play the demo almost nightly  (broke student FTL.)

This years FIFA is garbage, if it's on sale and you save a few bucks, it doesn't change the fact it's still a waste of time compared to PES.

My only issue with PES is the skill moves. Not sure if the game just sucks for it, they're difficult to do in general, or I'm just doing something wrong. But I don't use them at all which takes away from certain situations where I wanna put on some step overs or do a roulette.

I hear you and I'll take your word, I remember other people saying this to in here..

BUT YOOOO!!! Idk if I can make the switch

Going from Fifa where everything is so organized and going to PES which makes me feel like it's sort of fugazi and bousey. I mean don't they not have player names on there? Idk man, it'd take me out of the Fifa comfort zone. Everything would feel so different. FIFA has me hooked and I can't do **** :smh

WTF DO I DO PEOPLE? Lol
