Don't get how the prem is stronger despite getting washed in Europe.

Them prem bias runs strong through people though. Even to the point that when the top sides almost all underachieve it somehow is a positive thing for the EPL.

I can only speak for myself but i wasn't talking about the Premier League being stronger in Europe thats not the case at this time obviously. I just meant stronger when it comes to the league by itself and its clubs when it comes to playing other Premier League clubs..

They're saying competition within the league is stronger. TV money is giving mid table teams more cash to get quality players they never could before.

The argument is being made here that it's more of a case that the lesser teams have caught up to the standards of the top sides but that isn't true. It's more of a case of the top sides underperforming, underachieving, and/or being inconsistent.

I'm not taking anything away from the Cinderella stories of the season. Some clubs are balling week in and week out and maximizing the output from their respective talent and you gotta respect that. And also the prem is the richest league and loaded with talent. But even so, I think the league has just gotten more competitive, but not stronger. The real barometer of that to me is play in Europe.

And nobody ever knocked the EPL when Chelsea, United, City, and Arsenal would be at the top to discredit the prem's strength. I've never seen it here on this board. U don't gotta make up things to enjoy the run Leicester is having Heggsy.

Now the second sign of the BPL getting stronger is if the current guys in the Top 4, stay within the Top 4 and hold their own in the CL. If Leicester/Tottenham can even put up a fight or better yet make it past group stages? That's progress. It takes time.

Also I don't see the problem with trash talking. Thats what sports fans do. I have no issues with anyone in here, I'm just teasing.

Americans get made fun of for being out of the soccer loop. Its now expanding and now we're being told we don't even live in these countries so why care so much? Americans strictly like MLS and get told they are watching a garbage product and the real thing is so much better across the water. Y'all gotta pick a side and stick with it.

People overseas love basketball, its becoming a worldwide sport and funny enough, you'll never hear Americans shun people from different countries for liking different players or teams.

Yeah I guess some of us have been using stronger and competitive interchangeable when describing the league.

but this guys on point with what i meant in a more simplified way
They're saying competition within the league is stronger. TV money is giving mid table teams more cash to get quality players they never could before.

im not saying teams cannot have international fans, all im saying is bashing and trash talking as if theyre from the city where the team is from. thats what i dont get
I get what your trying to say but.. and maybe this is just an "american" mentality but you don't have to be from a city to support the club. I don't a single person in this thread has mentioned that arsenal fans in here are C*nts because the club is located in London.. so saying that you have to have a residency in a city to be able to be invested in a club seems extreme, I know people in London who are HUGE, Dallas Cowboy fans.. I think thats the cool thing about sports is it connects ppl from all diff walks of life and diff parts of the world.

I don't think it matters who it necessarily is putting in work in Europe. Whether it's the traditional clubs or the new guys (if they're able to hold on.) It just matters that any clubs representing their respective leagues in Europe are performing to prove the strength of the league.

Edit: also the reality is that you can sometimes just watch and tell too which is why people weren't that appalled at the CL underperformances

I will say that the EPL teams recent performances in europe show how weakened the league actually is..

fax

do yall not see the quality of football being played in the BPL?  it's not good. that's why the BPL fails in europe.

class reigns supreme.  anyone can win a match or 2 but sustained success is a sign of quality and class.

arsenal have NO sustained success...they are sporadic as hell. lmao

but giroud is world class...lmao

arsenal fans are the best

You really think majority of Arsenal fans think Giroud is world class? Most Arsenal fans I know been wanting Wenger to sign a top striker for years now but we're stuck with Giroud and Walcott. And though they are inconsistent and wasteful at times, we can certainly do much worse than having those two. They both have their strength and weakness but they do contribute to our success, and unfortunately also our misery.

But continue your Arsenal bashing. Feels like I'm reading ESPN comment section.

i was joking about giroud i know that no one really thinks he's any good at all

And that's all "we" (who think this way) are trying to say. The top clubs have gotten worse but the mid-table and lower teams have gotten better...

So it's way more competitive and fun to watch the EPL right now. I don't think anyone is really trying to throw shade at Arsenal or Leicester. It's just the facts, top European teams coming out of England just isn't a thing anymore, is that disagreeable?

Sucks for the champions league but the EPL is fun as hell to watch because of this.

Stokelona need to go out and sign El Sharaawy, apparantly he's available come January

Would make sense. But from what I've read. He's been absolutely shocking since '13. Maybe he can come good at Stoke, but he really has not been performing at all...

Tottenham made their debut in the CL 2010-11 season and made the Quarter Finals, beating Inter and AC Milan on the way, losing to Real Madrid

I meant it was getting more competitive. That was my point.

And I'm not making stuff up, I wasn't necessarily talking about this board, but just football fans in general

Onda Cero | Isco wants to leave Real Madrid and prefers to already leave in winter. Benítez won’t let him leave.

Benitez doesn't want to sell him yet he doesn't want to play him either . Woody needs to pay Flo whatever they want for him, can't have him ending up at another PL club...:nerd:

There's absolutely no reason on the planet why Woody should not be flying over the Brinks trucks immediately to Madrid.

LMAO I find it funny that United fans answer to solving their crisis every season is to fly the brinks trucks over to buy more players and repeat the cycle.
