I don't know whose the real reason to blame over at Arsenal for all the signing problems or lack there of whether Arense or the board but (off the top of my head guessing) 1 great player every 3 Windows is a bad management route. Forget about their tactics and play which keeps them at 4th every year but with a manager with his job concrete he should've had a big advantage over all these top clubs that now live through managers who have 2-3 year lifespans.

Random rant but I always loved what Arsenal represented/offered to the table. That and Henry was just too suave not to ignore

Isco would be :pimp:

But Bender would be more beneficial defensively.

Wish they could go for Icardi also but that's not going to happen

But Bender and Ozil in the midfield would be amazing.

We just need someone healthy up front who can finish

Lars needs or just had surgery so he wont' be ready to play for a while. Sven doesn't seem to be getting much burn at BVB, I think he would cost less too.

As a collective, they have failed to step up. It's always been that we haven't had enough money. But now we do have money, so what's the reason now? Not enough quality, aside from a world class striker, there are plenty of options out there

Rolaholic did you post the pic of lewa holding his Guiness World Record awards for the fastest hast trick yet?

son looks straight out of the why can't I hold all these lemos meme.

Arsène Wenger: "We tried to sign Kingsley Coman in the summer of 2014. The transfer was almost completed but he preferred Juventus."

Wenger has to be in on the joke of all the almost signings at this point

Happens with literally EVERY promising young french player
Fully aware of how embarrassing that it is and it was also embarrassing losing our best players to other clubs. I'm content with this squad, just need 2-3 solid players.

For me, I think 2 players would suffice.
DM, we will be linked with Xhaka, Bender, Carvalho, Gonalons until the window closes.
A young striker like my boy Michy but City are interested in him. We were linked to Gabriel Jesus and or Gabigol but I don't see Wenger going after a young South American player considering 3rd parties, work permit issues and buy out clauses  .
A top striker will be difficult to buy, especially in the winter.
I dont think we need any fullbacks/CB's atm.
I did read that we sent a scout to watch Isco during the CL match on Wed

Ruben Neves perhaps?:nerd:

No lie I was literally thinking about Wenger's "almost signings" either earlier td or yesterday  :smh:

There is a pic out there, like the United pic (starting XI of rumored transfers), where it has Arsene's "almost signings" starting XI.

Ridiculously funny, funnier than the United one

Do you realize how embarrassing it is to constantly come out and say you almost signed players but they preferred somewhere else? It's to play people like you into pretending there's real intent. If he really tried he would have persuaded those almost players and paid them. Arsenal's brand and history, the EPL, London, and attractive playing style make them a destination club. But there's a reason that they still don't get anyone.

And players with the English tax like Sterling aren't the only ones out there.

Holdddddd upppp,

So you think Wenger is dumbing himself down? I'm confused - by no means is he playing a game, Wenger is absolutely the person he's shown us to be

One of his characteristics is straight up patheticness  " we've could've sigved dis playah, we've could've sigved dvat playah" Fergie used to make fun of him for always being pathetic

i just thought it was that no one wants to go to arsenal.

it seems to lack the allure other prem clubs have and wenger doesn't help.

it was sort of tongue in cheek, like when i said this

I bet part of Arsene's salary negotiations factor in an extra 10% bonus for taking **** that should be thrown at the board.

"let me make all these dumb comments about signing people and pretend I can't zip up my jacket to seem like a huge doofus. That way people will blame everything on me and the dudes who pay me will give me that bonus."

We all know dude really can't zip up his jacket.

  @ we all know he cant really zip up his jacket

Sometimes I feel bad for Wenger, really do. Other times I want to strangle this French/German hybrid and say "yoooo, wake the **** up man"

This season tho, no excuses. I don't want to hear the money excuse, the transfers excuse. They have more than enough talent to win when every other team in the competition is underachieving and the EPL at an all time low in talent - for gods sake, Leicester is in first place!!!!! (No disrespect Heggs)

This has to be the final straw, it's been way too long. If they have a chance at Pep, by all means, bring him in. Don't wait until 2018.

Wenger is a top manager, this team is letting him down and they need to step it up and that's all. We finally paid off our stadium debt and now it's time to buy some players. Also we have a bunch of people saying buy this guy or that guy and they have zero experience in managing top flight football or football in general, so keep speculating and speaking nonsense.

Idk man I would rather swing and miss than not swing at all. Calculated risks need to be taken in order to progress. Some will backfire and some won't. You never know until money is risked on signing players

I agree to a certain extent and Wenger has made some serious mistakes with some players like Squillaci, Andre Santos, Gervinho, Djourou etc. Even then he didn't spend big money.. When he did he got Ozil and Sanchez, great signings. Yes he needs to spend money on more players and of course he won't spend money this January because players are cup tied and teams don't want to let go of players midseason but we did get Nacho and Gabriel in January. I still have faith in Wenger so hey I am still Wenger in until May then evaluate his performance as a manager at the end of the season.

Edit: Title is so fitting, Barcelona is unbelievable.. Going to bust out my Iniesta kit some time this week

saw this on reddit, brilliant stuff

That's alright man

so often we see fans belittling the players, like they could've done better themselves. It's refreshing to see the opposite right there.

As far as Arsenal is concerned, I mean on paper, we have a pretty good squad when healthy. Jack, Danny, Coq, Koscielny, and of course Santi and Alexis are players that the majority of the clubs out there would gladly have. We just lack the depth in a few positions, namely DM. I'm a huge fan of Ruben Neves, and a recently saw we were preparing a bid for him. I doubt we sign him in January, but hopefully we can get whatever Bender is playing for Dortmund. I don't necessarily think we need a top-class striker, especially when we have one

, but if we can get a young gun (pun intended), then we can if he's available to us.

We're one month away from the transfer window. If we can weather the storm until then, I'd like to think we'll be in good enough shape to make a charge towards the title in the spring. Just checked the schedule, the 12/21 game against City will be absolutely crucial however. Hopefully we can take some points from the game.

Not getting all 3 pts at Tottenham, West Brom, and Norwich is going to haunt us later.

If you're to make any challenge for the cup you have to beat the teams you're supposed to beat.

Just received a notification that Courtois is set to return this Saturday again Bournemouth. Wow, I almost forget about him.
