Him and Xavi are the prototypical MF playmakers you'd want to emulate if you're a young player. They're not exactly the greatest athletes but both are geniuses with their vision and feel for the game. They see things developing long before they're there and are usually pin point in their deliveries. Spain's been beyond spoiled in the MF man these last 10 years it's ridiculous ,that all time caliber talent is unmatched even by Germany :x :x :x :x

Iniesta is one of my favorite footballers of all time. He's simply a magician at MF.

Yeah...I'm gonna be that guy now....(and I've said this before on and offline)

I know everyone will talk about Ronaldo and Messi, but if you were to ask me in their prime who's the the first person on my team sheet it would be Iniesta....

@utdreport: David De Gea has now gone 443 minutes without conceding for #esp, a new international record previously held by Gordon Banks [@ShamoonHafez]

To be fair,he hasn't had to do much with the way Spain dominate games but still an impressive record to have

Fact: Apparently DDG has actually never conceded a competitive goal for Spain so far

You can throw Pirlo, Riquelme and Paul Scholes into that cerebral group with Xavi and Iniesta for me.

I think Iniesta's athleticism is actually what differentiates him from the group. He's small and not the fastest in terms of linear speed but still an incredibly dynamic athlete. In his prime particularly, allowed him to do things with the ball at feet without releasing that separated him from the rest.

I gotta give a shout to my guy Kroos too. Maybe not quite at that all time great level but I get immense pleasure watching him all the same.

Pirlo and Scholesy were most definitely MF maestro's as well :smokin. I hear you on Iniesta's athleticism in his prime, when they won the WC in SA, you could honestly say that he was arguably the best player on the planet at that time imo

I miss Alexi Lalas's arrogance. Dude would be sitting next to legends like Ballack and Van Nistelrooy, constantly interrupting them or essentially telling them that their opinions were idiotic.

It was pure comedy

Those late night World Cup Aftershows with Lallas, Ballock, Tirico, Twellman, and Fordyce amongst others were terrific to watch

Nothing worse than seeing Lalas' douche smirk when he's preparing himself to argue against people who know what they're talking about...he's like the real life DcAllAmerican. No matter what you say, he will ALWAYS go against it
