@Squawka DONE DEAL: Lucas Digne has joined AS Roma from PSG on a season-long loan for £1.8m (€2.5m) with an option to buy.
@GFN_France AC Milan have made an enquiry for AS Monaco midfielder João Moutinho, according to @DiMarzio.
@ussoccer announces two new major youth development initiatives: http://soc.cr/RjPqk

This is a big misconception. Suarez was at Liverpool years prior and during the 2012/13 season he had 23 goals for the epl campaign and probably would've had a bit more if he wasn't suspended, but we never finished as high as we did the next season. It wasn't until Sturridge came around and they were finally able to play together was he able to score as much as he did. It was a joint effort by the two.
Def, they both benefited from each other and they had some serious chemistry. I was amazed how some black English dude and some xenophobic Uruguayan dude had so much chemistry

They were hitting each other off with crosses and back heel assists, it was so pretty. But Suarez was on the Michael Jordan juice that year, I think he was responsible for at least half of Liverpool's goals that season.

Best performance by one man in the EPL since Ronnie in 2008 and Henry in 2004.

RVP 2012 gets overlooked a lot, that squad would NOT have come close to winning the league let alone actually winning it without him lighting it up and putting the team on his back the way he did :x :pimp:.

Is Sturridge coming back anytime soon?

About time. Kind of surprised that he didn't find his way back to La liga/Serie A,the transfer raid by Turkish clubs continues

One thing I want to add, and I'm being 100% serious....

If Wayne Rooney can do half (yes, yes just half) of what Suarez did in 2013-14 - United will have a great year. The way Suarez put the team on his back that season from goals, assists, playmaking the as absolutely beautiful. Wayne Rooney dreams about doing that at night.

I mean he has put up 34 goals in a season twice for us and surely enough, we also finished 2nd both times  . Sucks that those days seem to be over though, hopefully he can still put up a few goals this season but the days of 20+ goal seasons seem to be over :\ . He put uneeded pressure on himself by publicly setting a 20+ goal target before the season when he hasn't scored that much in almost 4 seasons  :\ .
I hear you though,Suarez almost single handedly carried them to the title :x ,damn Stevie G  .

It hurts more because I don't think we will bring a class stricker this transfer window.

Funny enough, today Der Telegraaf is reporting the LVG is about to sanction a 73M bid for an attacker...it's still a mystery who it is but the only realistic options I could see would be Griezmann or Cavani. They've usually been on the mark with our transfers since LVG joined and they were probably the first ones to announce Schweini's signing. The deadline can't come soon enough

Also how's this for a domino effect ,Digne joins Roma which leads to Kurzawa joining PSG and Coentrao going to Monaco

He plays the same position as Memphis why are people ignoring this. Neymar too

£73M/€100M is a pretty hefty fee.... Atletico would be able to do so much with that money. I just hope it's not spent on another Muller bid since the only way that happens is if KDB somehow ends up at Bayern which is pretty unlikely. He looks on his way to a new contract at Bayern anyway, just like Neymar with Barca

Griezmann is very versatile btw,he played striker often for Atletico last year

Damn Strootman. Hope he gets well soon. Hate to say it but this is a flop for Roma. Just glad they have De Rossi, Pjanic and Niaggolan in the middle. However if Strootman was available that would be awesome.

73 million quid for United....

Here comes Harry Kane!!!!

That'll make my day

The English tax on him would be 60 million

Yes James Wilson who's 19 but he's still too raw for regular minutes in the first team. LVG's looking for someone proven if he's to win silverware this year.

Hurrikane has scored just as many times as Rooneh this season...I'm good on him for this season

If he has another great season I cam see him going for more than Bale since he's English not Welsh

I'm taking a late lunch today so I can watch the ManU game later today, but my stomach ain't trying to hear that.

#mufc XI: Romero; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Herrera, Carrick; Mata, Januzaj, Memphis; Rooney.

#mufc subs: Johnstone, McNair, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Young, Fellaini, Chicharito.

#AnderFreed

Carrick and Ander...interesting partnership to start. As Eiddy already mentioned, hope he tears it up  :pimp:.

Hope they come out swinging to start and not just sit back and defend,1 more goal and it's over with basically.

The transfer window should be over before the season starts, beyond annoying

It should be done even before preseason tours start imo. They should start it earlier not that long after the season ends.

Why do ppl always ***** about this but not the nba trade deadline / NFL etc.

Teams get a better idea of what they need to address and have a period of time to do so. Also players can see if a perspective team they're looking to join will be part of a competition they're talented enough to be a part of. And teams know if they'll be a part of said competition to receive extra money and make a more financially sound decision on bringing in a player.

Closing the window before the season starts would just be succumbing to the people who pull crazy headlines out of their *****.
