Scholes is the only United player I've genuinely loved to watch and I hate united with an absolute passion. The guy was absolutely phenomenal.... Better than Giggs and Keane but they each brought their own skill sets to that midfield.

You're right but they came out on top a lot more often than not. Keane and Viera is the best player rivalry I've seen in the prem,dudes both wore their hearts on the armbands and left it all on the pitch

Yea I'm extremly surprised also. I thought if anyone was to get star treatment it would have been RvP since he's a countryman, but LvG shipped him off and didn't care.

Def would be a powerful message if he did drop him and we all know LvG loves his powerful messages. But it's still odd to me, knowing LvG - that it hasn't happened yet, could it be the hierarchy at United that are telling LvG they'd prefer if Rooney played? (due to marketing?) idk, I'm probably reaching but this has had me perplexed.

Carrick should be captain regardless, I always thought that - even if Rooney plays. Rooney to me never seemed captain worthy. Same way Ronaldo isn't. But let's be real here, the armband doesn't mean that much and it def shouldn't stand in the way of Rooney getting benched.
