Only SAF could get away with benching Rooney because he's like Jesus over there.

Anyone else and its gonna cause mass hysteria.

The club announced that there's a testimonial match scheduled in honor of Wazza next year at OT...is this the beginning of his end? :nerd:

If Givinco doesn't win MVP this year it's a disgrace right? He already won Golden Boot

HULK: I'LL STAY UNTIL 2025!

Zenit striker Hulk insists he'd be happy to stay at the Russian side for another 10 years. The 29-year-old Brazilian has scored 10 goals in 17 games so far this season.

"As I've said, I'm very happy here," Hulk said via the club's official website. "I love St Petersburg, Zenit and the fans.

"My contract ends in 2019 but, if the club and the fans want it, I'm happy to extend until 2025."

PIRLO WON'T RETURN

New York City FC midfielder Andrea Pirlo has ruled out a return to Europe for the MLS off-season.

Pirlo's side saw their season end on Monday evening, missing out on the MLS play-offs, but he told Gazzetta dello Sport a return is not on the cards.

“I don’t think I will return, it would not be fair to my current club,” he said. “All I’m thinking about is training this off season for the 2016 campaign at New York.”

HENRY: PEP WILL COACH IN ENGLAND

Thierry Henry thinks Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola will manage in the Premier League one day.

Guardiola, who coached Henry during their time together at Barcelona, has been linked with a move to replace under-pressure Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge in recent days.

"I think eventually he will come as he is a competitor and he will want to win the title in every league possible," Henry told Sky Sports News.

"He can speak English by the way, so maybe that's something that tells us he may come sooner rather than later."

SPURS CHASE €30M LIGUE 1 STAR

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing in-demand Lille midfielder Sofiane Boufal, according to reports in France Football.

However, the north London club are facing stiff competition for the 22-year-old's signature from the likes of PSG and Inter Milan.

And the French sports daily claim Lille value the Morocco international at €30m.

UNITED 'TO REVISE ANDERSON OFFER'

Manchester United are preparing a bid for Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson in January, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian press report a £28m bid was rejected by the Serie A side last summer from Louis van Gaal's side, but United could come back with a revised offer.

The 22-year-old has made 13 appearances for Lazio this term, scoring five times.

VALDES WANTS PL STAY

Victor Valdes wants to stay in the Premier League, but away from Manchester United, says the Spaniard's agent.

Valdes, who moved as a free agent in January, but has not made an appearance so far this season.

"We are relying on Manchester United letting Victor go," Valdes' agent Gines Carvajal told Sport. "Valdes want to stay (in PL) because he has adapted."

NEW NAVAS DEAL?

Real Madrid are set to hand goalkeeper Keylor Navas a new contract, according to Marca.

The Costa Rica international, who was close to a move to Manchester United in the summer with David De Gea going the opposite way, has been in fine form this season.

Rafael Benitez's new side have not lost a game this term, and the Spanish publication are now reporting that Real are assessing Navas' position on the pay scale.

ZENIT WANT FALCAO

Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao is being eyed up by Zenit St Petersburg manager Andre Villas-Boas, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Colombian, who played under Villas-Boas at Porto in 2010/11, has been Diego Costa's understudy at Stamford Bridge after spending last season on loan at Manchester United.

RANIERI RELAXED ON VARDY

Claudio Ranieri admits Leicester are only likely to review Jamie Vardy's contract situation next summer despite reported interest in him from Real Madrid.

The Premier League's top scorer has found the net 10 times this season including in each of his last seven top flight games.

The Italian said: "He is happy with us, he's happy with his contract and that's important. Maybe [we'll look at it] at the end of the season, with a lot of goals scored.

"Speculation is good because football is speculation but it's important me and my players are very focused about the pitch."

TOWNSEND OUT, BOLASIE IN?

Tottenham will allow Andros Townsend to leave on loan in January and could once again make a move for Crystal Palace's Yannick Bolasie, according to The Sun.

Townsend, 24, has not made a Premier League appearance this term at Spurs, with Swansea and Newcastle reportedly waiting in the wings to approach him.

And The Sun say Spurs will once again make an approach for Palace winger Bolasie, having reportedly failed in the summer.

PSG IN FOR ALLI?

PSG are eyeing a surprise move for Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, according to French publication L'Equipe.

The former MK Dons man has made 13 appearances in all competitions for Spurs, and has earned two England caps.

L'Equipe are reporting that PSG's sporting director Olivier Letang watched Tottenham's 2-1 defeat by Anderlecht last week in the Europa League.

CLOSEST MESSI HAS BEEN TO EXIT

Lionel Messi has never been closer to leaving Barcelona, according to Sky Sports' Spanish expert Guillem Balague.

The Sun reported last week that Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all made informal approaches to Messi's people, but Barcelona have always maintained that the Argentine will stay at the club.

However, Balague said on Revista Bitesize: "It is the closest he’s ever been to leaving Barcelona. It doesn’t mean he will but it is the closest he has ever been to leaving the club."

A United fan I know IRL has finally realized that United cannot put out their best attacking lineup with Rooney starting. I've been telling him this for a while and he's been trying to figure out formations where Rooney can start but after Rooney's performance in the derby he's finally accepted it.

Rooney has been done for 18 months as a top player in truth.

What are the people in Manchester saying RY7? Time to sit him down?

The majority are starting to accept that Wayne is past his best and probably should be moved on, Although a few rose tinted fans still believe it is a matter of time until he comes back to his best, which we all know isn't going to happen.

What I can say is that most United fans are still pretty on the fence with Van Gaal, and this insistence on Rooney always playing certainly isn't helping his cause either.

I'm honestly starting to believe that it's not even LVG's call. His history has shown that he has zero qualms when it comes to dropping out of form players so this is out of character(RVP would be the most high profile recent example). I really am starting to belive that the board might have a say given his "icon" status.

*Just came across a nice little throwback to the pre-Sheikh Citeh era
