People said the same after missing out on Fabregas last year and we came back and got ADM,not worried one bit
laugh.gif
. As long as the cash keeps flowing from these multimillion dollar sponsors, the players will come.

Some might say that Roo sounded a little dillusional there and I could see it but I like the confidence, just hope the goals will actually come soon as he says...

If not I doubt LVG will hesitate to pull an RVP on him

I don't like to make predictions until the transfer market is closed, the fact the transfer window is open during the season is ridiculous in itself (thats another story) - but United def have fallen out of place in my prediction list. Might as well just have forced and kept Di Maria in all honesty.

What good would that have really done though? Dude wanted out bad since the turn of the year
laugh.gif
. That would've only created another DDG like sideshow distraction in the locker room

Who cares what he wanted, he was under contract- then he has to play. RM/RW would have been his position which he's always preferred anyways. I just don't understand what United are doing now when they just let Di Maria go. I don't get it.

Now they need RW, ST, and a CB. It's crazy. So much pressure on Memphis is carry this team now because Rooney and his chemically induced head is in lala land :smh:

He'd be forced to play and then bottle it even more than he did last year...we played MUCH better and by far our best football with him on the bench last season, against some top clubs too. I would agree with you if he had Falcao's determination and heart to prove himself but that was lacking. He just never fit in to the whole possession based philosophy. I still swear that he would've flourished under SAF but LVG is not SAF and isn't about that lullling, counter attacking life
laugh.gif
. It was the best decision for all 3 sides at the end of the day...

We have some options out wide though in Adnan(although LVG seems to have fallen in love with the idea of him as a no.10),Young,Mata and youngsters like Lingard and Pereira who are hungry and still waiting on their shot. I personally don't think we'd need another winger,it'd be nice sure but I'm fine with our options on the bench. Now ST and CB is a must I agree.

I wouldn't say it's all on Memphis to create the goals
laugh.gif
,the entire attack needs to step up their level. Mata's missed a few chances along with creating some and our finishing in general has been poor. Once they start finding their flow and regaining that confidence in finishing,I think we'll be good in terms of goalscoring. That's also dependant on another strike option being brought in.

I see people are still overlooking the fact that in one summer United have completely gutted out and re-worked it's foundation. But hey, it is what it is.

I'm happy to see the deadweight gone, a solid foundation being built, and the right key players being added in.

People are acting like this is another window like the Moyes window.

adnan has a lot of potential but you can't rely on him week in and week out. the ADM thing really hurt yall imo.

and i wasn't saying depay won't be great but it just seems like man u fans think because they have been busy this summer, players are just dying to go to man u

i honestly think people don't want to play for LVG

but people are underestimating pedro.

he is great with both feet.  amazing stamina and tracks back better than anyone i've seen on barcelona in a long time.

there is no way willian is better than him.

I'm not really salty about Di Maria leaving.

But then again, I'm also a PSG fan.

United will have to figure this out. More so for the sake of the champions league.

i can still see them finishing top 4. I'm scaling my "top of the league" ambitions back. Hopefully they can deliver above my expectations.

>be van gaal
>lead the fans to believe a surprise signing was in the works
>must be a big signing
>Pedro is linked
>United fans think they're hotter than they actually are
>think Manchester is a better destination than london
>get William'd and Pedro signs for Chelsea instead
>WE DIDBT EVEB WANT HIM ANYWAYS GUYS

lol

Okay the deadweight is gone but it's not dfficult to get rid of players, but didn't the United fans put Woody on this crazy pedestal? That wasn't from us neutrals

I'm just saying, if you were to ask me a week ago I might have put United in 2nd place to finish the season, today I'd say 4th, no doubt about it - Same as last season. Pedro was a huge loss, trusting that RW position to be put on Adnan or Ashley Young is so "mehhhhh" :x

Then your boy Rooney living up to my status of "the most overrated player in the world" is another worrying issue. But hey, TW is not closed yet so ya'll might pull something off that makes my expectations higher, I just don't think their is much on the market tho. Unless someway or somehow they pull off a surprise Bale & De Gea switch.

After the incompetence in the market post Fergie yea we put Woody on a pedestal . Was about damn time we used our financial muscle on talent but I don't recall anyone calling him the new Perez who can get signings at the snap of a finger or anything like that.
Dudes love putting words in our mouths/building strawmen .

Im just gonna semi patiently wait for what they have in store this year at the deadline...

WOT?!?!

Did you see who United had on their books recently? And believe it or not, MONEY was actually paid for some of these players:

Cleverley
Anderson
Nani (with those ridiculous wages)
RVP (with those ridiculous wages)
Rafael (when was the last time you saw him play more than 90min's in a row?)

Last season there was a backline of Tyler Blackett and Yung Paddy.

Not too long ago the dynamic duo of Anderson and Cleverley were dominating the midfield

United are making the right moves. It takes time to build a squad to be predicted as number 1. I've said for a while now that don't expect United (because of a good TW or two) to suddenly gunning for first. I've always said top 4 and deep runs in competition is most key right now.

Where are all the WOODY GIFS/MEMES!!!!????!!!!

That's what I'm talking about. Come on ya'll.

How about Rooney with his ridiculous wages? not all the deadweight is gone

Didnt realize this was the no fun footy thread. Got it,no more memes...

ed-woodward-manchester-united-executive-vice-chairman_3046697.jpg

No one really (guess besides you) considered Rooneh as dead weight until now

Of course it was fun and entertaining to see the woody stuff before, but it's also fun and entertaining now that things have basically made a 180 degree turn and the Woody stuff is in the trash folder. Ya'll are the ones arguing that everything is cool now while we're telling you otherwise and making jokes about how I things changed so quickly

I was saying that if getting rid of RVP and Nani this summer because of their wages was a success, then getting rid of Rooney compared to his wages would be one also, no? For a team that makes €200 million a year in endorsements, I don't think Letting RVP/Nani go should be a success. Getting players to REPLACE them should be a success. Who knows, if ya'll don't pick up a striker ya'll may regret letting RVP go if Rooney continues to wander around.

I mean it has been good business though ,we've had aa little under 10m in net spending this summer on some solid, impactful aquisitions. Missing out on both these dudes won't make or break our season but I'm sure LVG has something planned before the end of the window.

Think it was pretty obvious that I was talking about this summer...
We've been linked with him since the beginning of the summer. Once it seemed Raheem was less likely to sign with us we switched our focus back to Pedro. Then decided to opt for Firmino instead.

Oh and nobody here has a vested interest in "hating" on Man U. It's just that u dudes were parading in here talking about how u get who u want, and "Lord Woodward" but the lineup talent-wise is still a joke compared to United's standards. With all that money and history at the club the bar should be higher for a successful window to just be getting rid of dead weight. All that money doesn't do the fans of the team anything if it isn't being spent on bringing in top tier talent.

The longer u dudes are irrelevant, the better it is for Chelsea and City's brand and it hurts you guys.
