I firmly believe that the board is forcing LVG's hand on Rooney as he's meant to be the great english hope for the most successful club in England. He's meant to be the flagship marquee player, when you think about the marketing side of the business (Rooney's face is EVERYWHERE) I can see why the board is pushing for Rooney to always play. We've seen LVG drop players, fire RVP with ease, but for some reason, Rooney gets special treatment (history shows Rooney consistently gets special treatment across 3 managers now).

Yea, I've alluded to that too but it's not something we can prove... SAF didn't have a problem benching Rooney, where was the United Marketing team then? Plus wouldn't winning games and being a better team add more value to the marketing managers at United? Rather than the rest of the Footballing world look at Rooney struggle on the field, and start claiming he's washed. I don't know man, I still got to hold LvG accountable unless I hear otherwise.

But yes, I think Carlo is a great possibility, he said he'd love to manage United. If he's available, why not? The Pep situation - Pep is a diva himself and I'm sure it's frustrating negotiating with him - but why not try. I could see those two being viable options, so discussing the exit of LvG isn't as 'counterproductive" as it would seem. Thats me tho.

Timbers sold Villafana to Santos Laguna for just under $1MM. I'll miss him, he really turned into a hell of player the 2nd half of the season, and was probably the most important player not named Borchers in the Cup final.

Timbers better not **** up finding his replacement.

The greatest manager in the history of the sport pretty much had free reign to do exactly as he pleased. And you're comparing this manager to the doings of one successful manager, and one mid-table mediocre manager.

History has shown LVG will gladly bench stars, and egos.
History has shown that Rooney always gets special treatment, even before LVG ever donned the red, black and white tie.

But by all means, you can continue to believe the board has nothing to do with this. The same board that was held ransom by Rooney twice. The same board that was convinced by Rooney and his agent that he's worth his outrageous wages (including a percentage of marketing rights).

I genuinely believe the board see's Rooney as a symbol for the club.

I see it dude, I feel you..... I just need evidence or some type of leak to believe it.

If that's the case, knowing LvG - at his age, his ego, what he's been thru, and his history - wouldn't LvG let us know that? LvG just came out today and basically said that Schweinsteiger sucks (pharaphrasing) laugh.gif - Maybe LvG won't let the public know this while he's managing, but if this is true - LvG will def say it in the future "They made me play Rooney.." He gives no damns laugh.gif

So we'll know one day, but I still gotta point my finger at Senor van Gaal until that day comes, then I'll gladly apologize laugh.gif

Sacramento Republic FC, and probably yes especially after the MLS announced they are shooting to expand to 28 teams.

Hopefully we get a team full of Porkchops, that was you can pay some attention to them!

Hes definitely seen as a symbol/icon by the club imo. Otherwise he'd have been sold when he was unhappy at being benched by Fergie

Hope whoever thought it was a good idea to pay Wazza the highest wages outside of Messi/Ronnie is no longer at the club...

PORT-Chops, and I know you know how to spell it by now... laugh.gif

But honestly, I don't pay attention to the MLS now, so I doubt it, but I hope you get your team and get crazy at the game. Ya'll have great fans in Sac-Town - whats the timetable like? within the next 3 years to be MLS ready?

Call me naive, but for the longest time, I never bought into that... but man, I just don't know anymore.

Porkchops just sound so much better tho :lol

tbh, the ownership and the local govt here are pushing the issue by having the stadium and land proposal preapproved so that they can begin building the stadium whenever MLS decides to grant us an expansion and have it ready ASAP.

I think I heard, if the MLS were to give us the A-OK today, the new stadium would be ready for the 2018 season. And the current semi-temporary stadium could be expanded on to sit 18k if needed for an earlier season.

I haven't really gotten crazy at any matches, just really really drunk and loudly talking about football in general and my travels to europe. Its always kinda uncomfortable cuz my seats are usually in the family section where all the youth teams go together and sit in....

It always feel like there's a @psk2310 type dad watching me either SMHing at me or nodding in approval :lol

So when rck is in NYC one day, or in Europe, and wants to meet. I'll throw hands with him for a a couple mins, teach him a lesson - before going out and getting hammered and having an epic night together. Love-Hate kind of thing. laugh.gif

Glad to see Wenger opting to go with Theo and Joel out on the wings with Oli up front... Ramsey and Flamini in midfield so I hope Flamini doesn't f up. COYG

May the Best Team Win......

If we don't make it today, I'd be crushed but it'll be deserved. Last game, what happened against Dynamo, was pathetic. We better be ready to come out and run and gun today against Chelsea, take advantage of their slide.

Hopefully the footy gods can help Porto & Chelsea out today and have Dynamo lose/draw because honestly, we are the better clubs.
