Yup, like I said later games are preferred by teams for this very reason.

Remember in the UK most of their games are played in colder temps. So midday games where the sun is out (which would be normal for the rest of us

) and teams get sluggish as players aren't used to playing in those temps.

I know... but I was just surprised that it even got that warm in the UK... warm enough to merit a water-break.  Don't recall ever seeing it in an official game.

Gonna need LVG to break the bank on a CF man Roo hasn't scored in almost 900 minutes played and he's only managed 4 goals and an assist in his last 21...not gonna cut it man. We're in store for more frustrating results if we can't improve the attack

good lord, watching espn try to do soccer highlight is awful. they just showed the bayern highlights today and after lewa scored the game winner he said "the heavy favorites were able to win with only 9 men". bayern was only down 1 man though

Not a chance basketball comes anywhere near soccer in any of our lifetimes.

Soccer is still growing at an exponential rate. Not just in America, but other massive countries like China, Pakistan, India.

Regions like the Middle East, the entire continent of Africa, much of Asia. In pretty much every developing and third world country soccer is still in its infant stages. Basketball won't even begin to close the gap any generation soon.

I'd love to see the source of the "soccer is growing at an exponential rate" statement.

No source needed man. It's just a fact.

Is soccer not growing in at a rapid pace in the states? Are domestic leagues not growing outside of Europe and the Americas?

There are people in developing countries who play everyday who've never seen a match on TV, or don't have a domestic league to speak of.

A lot of that will have changed 50 years from now.
