Court gives Bolton reprieve from liquidation Posted on January 18, 2016 by AFP

Cash-strapped Bolton Wanderers have escaped an attempt to have the club wound up immediately by British tax authorities regarding an unpaid bill worth millions of pounds, it was announced Monday. Bolton, bottom of the second-tier Championship and facing relegation to the third division, are £172.9 million ($247 million) in debt and under a transfer embargo for breaching Financial Fair Play rules, having been relegated from the lucrative Premier League in 2012. Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise had been seeking to have Bolton wound up over a bill worth £2.2 million. Now the northwest club have been given until Feb. 22 by the High Court to come up with a rescue scheme repayment plan that will satisfy HMRC and other creditors. Club advisor Trevor Birch welcomed the High Court’s decision to reject HMRC’s attempts to have Wanderers “liquidated.” “HMRC takes a very strict approach towards football clubs,” he said. “Despite the club putting forward a solution, utilizing funds generated from its assets that would have enabled repayment of its debt in full over a period of a few months, HMRC refused to agree to an adjournment to give effect to the plan. “With that in mind, it is pleasing that the High Court rejected its wish to liquidate the club and that it has given the club time either to raise funds and or conclude a sale.” Bolton were once one of English soccer’s leading clubs, winning the FA Cup three times in the 1920s and again in 1958, but have been left behind by the likes of northwest rivals Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City in recent decades. @samuelJayC Inter confirm Vidic has been released. Former Man Utd captain now a free agent. Turns 35 in October.
- West Han signing right-back Bryam indicates Jenkinson may be returning to Arsenal if Debuchy is sold/loaned.
- Reports that Arsenal are monitoring highly-rated Athletic striker Inaki Williams - he has a £15.3m release clause in contract.

@archiert1 Bad news for Schalke - captain Benedikt Höwedes out for up to 3 months after injury sustained during the winter break.

@CheGiaevara The full details of Anthony Martial's transfer form Monaco has seemingly been leaked according to @Le_Scan_Sport. What looks to be official documents state that Manchester United were due to pay Monaco €50m over the course of this year for Martial. In addition, Utd would have to pay €10m should he score 25 league goals, €10m after 25 caps for France and €10m if nominated for Ballon d'Or. It also includes details on how Manchester United and Monaco will have to share a certain amount of any future transfer over €60m.. Here is what looks to be the full transfer contract between Man United and Monaco for Anthony Martial: http://sport24.lefigaro.fr/le-scan-sport/business/2016/01/18/27004-20160118ARTFIG00182-le-contrat-du-transfert-d-anthony-marital-devoile-au-grand-jour.php

I completely forgot that Debuchy even existed...let alone signed to Arsenal...

I believe it's Bellerin that's taken up his place?

Tough break for the dude.

Guillem Balague asked Messi if he could do it on a cold, windy night at the Britannia. Messi: "I played in awful conditions in Rosario when I was 11 years old, with glass on the pitch, with holes and everything..." (stokesentinel.co.uk)

Well that settles that.

Well that settles that.

But was it cold and rainy? That's the issue here.

We need to make a run in the 2nd half of the season when Alexis and Ozil come back

Basically this. Ozil does so much for the team they had no cutting edge without him.
City only one point out smokin.gif Aguero passing to silva when on a hat trick speaks volumes about dude.
Why did Swansea let Jonjo go? I always thought dude was a solid player

Liverpool despite losing looked good. Firmino has to be better should have had 2 goals. They need Sturridge and Coutinho though.

John Terry was offside....great finish though laugh.gif I love that the Chelsea coach said post game that he was offside. Such class to admit it and not pull the old "idk i didn't see it". Straight up...sometimes it helps sometimes it hurts...we got the good end this time.

Yeah, Debuchy has been history for a while

I think they run Chambers right after Bellerin, too.

Rumor that Arsenal waiting for west ham to sign jenkinson replacement so they can recall him to replace debuchy. Not even sure that they can recall him.
Do you guys think Chelsea should buy Debuchy? It looks like Dave is staying on the left, they need to treat Ivanovic how Benitez did to Terry. They gave Arsenal the keeper that will probably win them the league, the least they can do is give them a solid fullback at a cut price.

Werder Bremen says Jordan Morris wont sign and wants to pursue a career in the MLS. Interesting move, wonder if their current relegation position influenced his decision.

Yeah does Caulker bag tons of goals in training playing up top or something?
Mignolet needs to be replaced.

40 + Welbz and call it good?

Arsenal can spend the 53 though. They dropped 35 for Alexis, and that's the exact same thing if you're dyslexic.

roll.gif some of y'all are acting like BVB would gladly take a weak player like Welbz. Welbz couldn't even be a sub at BVB, let alone being a replacement for Obama yang...

Everton forward Steven Naismith joins Norwich City.

Spurs making a move for Axel Witsel

Wanted Arsenal to look at him :/
Always thought Gomes in goal for Watford wasn't bad. Still an upgrade for them though. I wonder what happened with Naismith at Everton? He started off the season on fire!
