Wow, Ronaldo was in classic form yesterday... That Man United form. Didn't see his 30 yard bullet, just saw the FK yesterday. smokin.gifeek.gif

To those who really play footy and have been playing since a child, isn't Ronaldo's form or his approach when he hits the ball really unorthodox, maybe somewhat wrong? I wish I could bring up the video from that goal yesterday but I'm on my phone.

I've always wanted to ask this but I always forget.

I've been playing for about 6 years, but the way he stabs the ball when he hits it is weird. It's easier for me to hit it with the big toe region to make it curl. I've tried doing it the Ronaldo/David Luiz way and mine never really dip

From what I'm told, you can try to place the ball with the valve facing where your toe will meet. That's apparently what helps get the dip...

I can strike the ball like Ronaldo (well as close as I can get) but I usually get better dip when the ball is moving as oppose to a dead ball. It's weird.

Wenger said he could potentially injure himself hitting it that way, back when CR was at United. Although I'm pretty sure it was just after the CL game where Ronaldo scored from about 40 yards from a free kick, so he was just salty I guess laugh.gif

So as mentioned yesterday, there were a bunch of scouts from top clubs at Ousmane Dembele's Rennes game yesterday where he really showed out, so much so that apparently even Barca want to sign him soon...

Starting off strong and getting this opening day 3 points is big. I can't wait to see what more this team can bring to the table, I don't mind a 2nd star on next seasons jersey either!

City getting the win this weekend was nice.
That liverpool penalty though ehhhhhhhhhh
United losing
A draw was fitting for Spurs Arsenal.

No real take away for me this week. Leicester's to lose still no Europa no Champions league they can rest and stay focused. I don't see City being so inconsistent climbing into the fight. If i was to bet i think Spurs look the hungriest if Leicester slip up.

Wenger would say some **** like that, while injuries have plagued his squads for years laugh.gif

But I know what you're saying Hegs, Ronnie shoots it way better when the ball is on the move too. He's been missing so many FK's these past few years that I wish some reporter or someone would ask him "why don't you just finesse the ball in? The knuckle or dipped ball isn't always the best choice in certain situations.

Nonetheless, when the ball is moving, he strikes it well - this was classic. Plus he's so acrobatic doing so laugh.gif. If I have a son one day tho, I'll probably tell him to keep it simple laugh.gif

So it seems we're being accused of doping our players laugh.gifmean.gifroll.gif

So the story of Leicesters season has a new chapter

August - Early Days
September - Just carrying on from last season
October - They haven't played anybody decent yet
November - They haven't played anyone decent away yet
December - Pure luck
January - Been lucky with injuries
February- They lost at Arsenal they've blown it
March - They're 5 clear, it's obvious their players are on drugs

If it's the same league that was discussed a few months ago I believe they're talking about a 3rd UEFA-esque league below the Europa League. If it's done we can finally answer the question of can Celta Vigo or Stuttgart win a cold and rainy day at Stoke

AC Milan Loses $100 Million And Is In Dire Need Of Investment

Things have gone from bad to worse for AC Milan. The Rossoneri lost $100 million during the 2014-15 season, or a quarter of the combined $398 million lost by the 20 Serie A teams, it was reported yesterday.

For AC Milan, controlled by Silvio Berlusconi, last year’s huge loss paints a particularly dire picture. The team ended 2014 with a net loss of $102 million, so with a second consecutive season of $100 million losses, over the last 11 years (2005-2015) the club has accumulated net losses of $504 million. The Rossoneri badly need an infusion of cash for a new stadium and to fund a competitive team.

But for AC Milan fans the prospects are not good, despite Berlusconi’s recent statement that guarantee his team will be in the Champions League final within five years.

To begin with, there will be no Champions League money for AC Milan this year, and probably not next year, given the team is currently in sixth place, despite the fact that this season the Rossoneri are paying $113 million in salaries, the third- highest Serie A payroll behind Juventus and Roma.

Now AC Milan’s financial problems may have Italy’s former Prime Minister looking to sell the furniture. Striker Luiz Adriano is reportedly for sale. Meanwhile, to quell its supporter’s fears that its most promising players are on their way out, the Rossoneri has had to publicly disclaim it is interesting in dumping striker Carlos Bacca, whom English powerhouse Chelsea is interested in obtaining, and AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani recently ruled out the sale of 17-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, amid reports of interest from Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool.

But how will AC Milan field a competitive team?

Berlusconi’s sale of roughly half of AC Milan to Thai financier BeeBee Taechaubol was suppose to give the soccer team, “deep pockets” but turned into a debacle. Now Berlusconi is pursuing Chinese investors. But with so much time wasted dealing with Taechaubol, Berlusconi is now dealing from a position of weakness, meaning the value of the team is falling.

True, Italy’s new television deal begins this season. But the money from the television rights will only add about $10 million to AC Milan’s ledger this season. When compared with what the other European top league’s are getting from their new television deals the cash coming into the Rossoneri is a pittance. And even that small increase in television money may prove illusory as prosecutors in Milan opened a probe last year into allegations of rigged bidding process for those TV rights.

It is increasingly looking to me like Berlusconi may have to sell all of AC Milan rather than a non-controlling stake, for the Rossoneri to become a Champions League final team.

To be honest, I miss the days of the Champions League when teams like Inter, AC Milan, Liverpool, Marseille, Lyon and Man Utd were forces to be reckoned with. Now it's the same three teams just dominating everyone else. It's why I was heavily rooting for Juve to win the CL last season, I want some variety at the top of Europe
