He could have gone after one of the Bender bros, Morgan, etc. Yea the market for WC strikers is small but he had all summer to make a move. Clubs need time to find a replacement. Waiting until deadline day, you back them into a wall and they aren't willing to budge. Which leads to a desperation buy on our end, or no buy at all and lack of depth.

Here are some of the strikers linked to Arsenal in the past couple of years:
Luis Suarez
Gonzalo Higuain
Karim Benzema
Edinson Cavani

Here's what Arsenal actually has:
Giroud
Welbeck

Bravo Wenger, fine job indeed.

Need I remind your that a few years ago United had a dynamic midfield duo of Cleverly and Anderson. It's been needed for a while. The building blocks and balance are starting to fall into place.

Chelsea sign Papy Djilobodji from Nantes. A whole lot cheaper then Stones and can play RB. I'm happy with this signing, I'd like to see he and Zouma paired up.

In all seriousness, Arsenal is basically the opposite of Liverpool right now. Liverpool is all spending with no tactics. Arsenal is all tactics with no spending. I wish we had a tactically gifted manager like Wenger to compliment the young talent we've spent all this money on frown.gif

roll.gif you're right. I mean, historically it's not like LVG has proven his capability to win at the highest level before, after gutting out teams.

What would you do differently in LVG's position as manager, perhaps you can enlighten us all from your vast years of successful managerial experience?

I wouldn't mind seeing Ivan play in the CB spot, but as a RB he needs to be gone. It's sad to see one of my favorite players decline so drastically but damn has he looked bad

Let's look at what Van Gaal has done in his short time with United.

He's taken away the entire striking core that was dangerous and replaced them with an unproven 19 year old that didn't exactly burn up Ligue 1. Chicha and Van Persie are more than serviceable, and damn sure more proven.

In the midfield, he's unable to find even a low grade version of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, and while it's a tall order, they're Manchester United. Players are supposed to want to come to Old Trafford. Barcelona signed cats who are willing to sit out for half the season, you mean to tell me yall aren't on that level?

You've got a ton of guys that are talking between each other and saying that they don't want to work for United. LvG's rep stinks out here, fam. He'll gut your team, sure. But great managers will take existing pieces and make the team better, and United had some pretty damn good pieces just three seasons ago. Hell, he managed to upset the best player in the squad in De Gea, and now he's gone.

Just be realistic fam. You don't have to lie to kick it. Manchester United are in a tailwind, and it starts from the top. Ownership is cashing in on the brand, management is helpless, and the manager just might be senile.

My-T.
