RM has great players but the chemistry doesn't seem to be there. If Ancelotti was still there I would consider them more than what I do now based on Ancelotti's leadership. He has a great track record everywhere he goes. I'm not sold on Benitez.

Bayern has it all. It would be a let down if they didn't win it all.

Barca is Barca and has the best player in the world. He is the difference maker on this team based on the Team ball Barca plays.

PSG is loaded. The bench isn't the best but the team is well put together overall. This would be the season for them to make a serious push to the UCL title. Pastore will be crucial for them in their quest. If he can be the playmaker and precise passer they can do some damage. He reminds me a bit of Riquelme except that he doesn't look as lack a dazicle as Roman.

Should be a fun season to follow.

Arsenal didn't want to spend the £50 million that PSG requested for Cavani

I'm done with Wenger. Well, more so than before.

Seems to be a common theme:

Di Marzio: Arsenal inquired about Simone Zaza yesterday, but refused to match Juventus' €30 million asking price.

Don't even care. He can be as overrated as any Liverpool player, but I'd still like to see Wenger try. Arsenal's in purgatory, as others have stated, and Wenger ain't even trying to get out. At least if he tries and fails, we can't fault him. But his stagnant, stubborn philosophy needs to change.

cavani might not be worth that money...but in today's market and game, you have to overpay to compete for the title (realistically compete) it seems. so i can see both sides of the argument (blaming wenger v not blaming wenger)

its not like arsenal doesn't have the money anyway. kroenke is the owner for christs sake. like deadset said, you gotta overpay in this day and age to get talented players especially when you consistently finish in the same place every year. something has to give

kroenke putting funds aside to brink the rams back to LA.

once that happens, then he can go ham on transfers

not srs,.

Same thing they said while the Emirates was being built though

I want PSG to win it all. Of all the teams I support, they're my favorite so I want them and Zlatan to take it all home.

I'm still frustrated with United. I think it'll take a few more days for me to get over them not signing my favorite player. Reus would be a great addition to ANY team.

I want to see how they play out this year. Hopefully they will have a successful year and build a great young team that flows together great over the next couple seasons.

And Bayern will be Bayern. I'm not really worried about them at all. They can make it to the CL final if they want. Hopefully this year if they do, robbed and Ribery will be in good health.

All in all my favorite clubs are in good standing (the future is nowhere but up for United.)

I'd like to see Arsenal and Liverpool have respectable seasons also. They have a handful of players that I favor (Ozil, Sturridge, and a few others) So I'd like to see them near the top of the tables also.

Now that this transfer window is over, I just want to see some good footy. And hopefully next year I'll see Reus in one of my favorite team kits.

There's only 3 realistic options for me but I'm always up for a surprise. Those 3 would be Barca(although they've started the season looking a bit sluggish, especially defensively),Bayern and PSG. Real should be in the mix as well as usual but I don't see them as one of the main threats to win it all this year imo.
PSG won't eem win their group though.

I really love the move with Zlatan in the 10 they've done. Never would have even thought to do that myself, but imo it was a perfect move. So props to their staff. Watched a replay of the PSG-Monaco match last night (which included Martial,) and it was beautiful watching Zlatan play that role. People need to stop questioning their depth too, they're a deep team and play in Ligue 1 where they're relatively unchallenged. Depth won't be an issue for them.

But yea don't count RM out. No homerism, but I really think they have potential to be a special group. Hunger and complacency are two very real things that happen in football, which is part of why we've never seen a back to back champions league winner. I think this RM team is crazy hungry, and I still think Rafa is a clown (the antithesis to Carlo's boss presence) but regardless I have a good feeling about his tactics with this team.

I'm going to wait before making my prediction though. I'm really on the Douglas Costa bandwagon though

. Bayern are always a machine, but he's injected a new element in them. Let's see if he keeps it up.

Yeah Douglas Costa is really fun to watch. I like the Coman acquisition until Ribery is healthy again. If I was a betting man I'd choose Bayern, with Athletico Madrid as a dark horse, I really liked their signings this summer. As an MCFC supporter I think that we finally have the squad/depth to make it to the quarterfinals. David Silva for Ballon D'or.

Yep...

You two are one of the most logical Arsenal fans in this thread btw, so don't go thinking we all think Arsenal fans are delusional

I really don't get people's beef with Arsene. Imo dudes a company man and just a face for what the problem really is. I really think the non-oil clubs of the EPL have just said **** it and are going to milk their fans for money for the next few seasons til fans start voicing their displeasure with their spending, or lack of it.

I think it's easy to discern who's really trying to win it big.

As an arsenal fan, I just feel like Wenger is the rich guy at the craps table who only bets the pass line. Like he's been at the table for the past ten years, and has only ever made a marginal profit or marginal loss. Meanwhile Louis from Oranje County threw a couple chips on Hard 8 and walked away with a Dutch, a German, a French and almost a Costa Rican had that one Spanish guy not rolled his last throw off the damn table.

C'est la vie :smh:

Does Arsenal still have the most expensive ticket prices in the league? They have the biggest fanbase in EPL from whom they get so much money and in return they don't want to spend on new players. Talk about being royally screwed. Wenger should've been out 3-4 years ago.

I didn't realize Arsenal had the biggest fanbase in the EPL.

oh yeah, for sure, I agree here. It's not like Arsene is saying, "I won't spend" while sitting on a warchest. I think he hasn't been given a warchest to really compete in the first place. But he's found a rhythm that allows him to continue playing at the highest level while not winning.

I laugh and joke about him as a manager all the time, but I won't lie, I respect what he's achieved immensely. It's not easy to continuously stay at that level with limited resource. A lot of those narrow victories at the end of the season to just qualify were purely down to Wenger.
