It's gotta be hilarious when soccer players meet famous American athletes. Dudes are probably like wtf kinda hormones are they putting in the food there and thank god these guys didn't decide to become soccer players and have dozens of Super Fellaini's running around. Imagine Fellaini ball to a 6'6" super athlete with a 40 inch vertical ruining the spectacle of the game

Also I bet the soccer players despite being world famous aren't the ones that feel like the alphas. The NBA and NFL players are just so damn big and dwarf them

 okay.

Yeah, you're probably right. He's only considered the greatest to ever grace the worlds most popular sport, while earning hundreds of thousands of Euros a week.

Dude has got to feel like a beta when he meets a larger athlete playing a sport that only one country plays.

You're totally right. Never thought of it that way....

I was unaware every professional soccer player on earth is a possible GOAT like Messi or an elite human like Ronaldo.

I know you're offended by my Man U criticisms but relax b it was a generalization, like how most players would rather play for Manchester City than Man U under LVG.

being fast doesn't or tall doesn't mean **** in footy though.

ronaldo isn't ronaldo just because of his athleticism its his skill that makes him ronaldo.  there are plenty of players that are faster or just as fast as ronnie but they arent the same.

some of the greatest players in the game like xavi and pirlo who decide matches. they can't do 20 pushups and probably run 5 second 40's.

thats why footy > any other sport.

your physical attributes are an afterthought to your skill.

if lebron played footy his whole life messi and ronnie would still be the best in this era...

these american athletes have like size 19 shoes..thats not going to do shhh for them in footy

To also be fair American athletes do not just get by on physical ability alone in their respective sports, skill and knowledge separate the best of the best in any sport.

^Agree wholeheartedly. There's never a middle ground in these arguments for most people.

Pro soccer guys bring up guys like Pirlo and so on and say its all about technique, pro American athletes bring up the physical.

Some of the best players feature guys who manage to take the best of both categories to dominate their respective fields. CR7 is a great athlete in a sport that doesn't necessarily call for it but definitely helps especially when combined with high level skill. LeBron is a great playmaker and just very well rounded in general, add on his rare combo of athletic traits and you get a once in a lifetime player.

I do personally believe that there is a place for great athletes in soccer, if applied properly.

I know it's all hypothetical but I honestly think America would dominate footy if our best athletes played it, we'd just play a different and "ugly" brand. I think that without a doubt we'd lock it down defensively with insanely fast closeouts and interceptions from fullbacks and midfielders. And out of all the NBA/NFL players at least 2 of them would make for world class CBs that are intelligent and can dominate both aerially and on the ground.

And we'd score in a different way, basically through the air and set pieces and like I said playing super Fellaini ball

I don't know why but the idea of super Fellaini ball is amazing to me

I feel like it would be so ugly to watch but no matter how hard I try I can't look away

I'm thoroughly convinced that the only people that consider Messi and Ronaldo GOATS are kids born in the 90's

They would be pretty average if they played in past eras
