Def would be a powerful message if he did drop him and we all know LvG loves his powerful messages. But it's still odd to me, knowing LvG - that it hasn't happened yet, could it be the hierarchy at United that are telling LvG they'd prefer if Rooney played? (due to marketing?) idk, I'm probably reaching but this has had me perplexed.

Carrick should be captain regardless, I always thought that - even if Rooney plays. Rooney to me never seemed captain worthy. Same way Ronaldo isn't. But let's be real here, the armband doesn't mean that much laugh.gif and it def shouldn't stand in the way of Rooney getting benched.

Man that's exactly what it is. Dude even dropped Riquelme laugh.gif

Yea I think Coupe miht be on to something laugh.gif. If he got dropped that would leave only Carrick and Mike as the only Englishmen on the squad...higher ups probably told LVG he's undroppable fdue to marketing reasons laugh.gifmean.gif

id be salty if he left, but i doubt he will go. Arsenal reported they are looking to extend his contract already with two years left and as mentioned make him the highest paid player on the squad

Raul announced he's gonna officially retire from Football now after this season with the Cosmos.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Alexis went to Madrid. I'm sure he'd love to be back in the warm weather and get revenge on Barca for letting him go. Real Madrid would do something like this.
I would legit shed tears if he left

I hope he stays in the BPL.

I believe Raul is actually a player-coach with the Cosmos. He's one of their assistants. I hope he just means he's done playing. Him coaching within the U.S. in any capacity is a huge asset.

You know what, Harry Kane was the first guy to come to mind. Well, the Spurs as a whole.

But he's still young, so we don't know where he'll end up.

But who's a veteran who's had a level of hype and hasn't lived up to it? (and still a shot jacker and overpaid)

Cats on Twitter saying Rooney, but nah. Rooney actually has patches on his jacket.

Gerrard would've been the Carmelo of the EPL.

Right now, I would say Giroud also laugh.gif

Rooney is more like Derek fisher. He has rings but only because of Kobe and shaq. he really isn't that good and only lakers fans think he's special.
Compared to any other good point guard you would rather have the other point guard.

i'd have to agree with Giroud as the Carmelo of the NBA.
Melo is better than that though laugh.gif

Gerrard would've been the perfect fit pre retirement...

I was just making a joke suggesting Giroud, I didn't think some people would actually agree :lol

I just thought it would be a fitting joke since Carmelo is an Arsenal supporter :lol

Giroud is David Lee. Good finisher, high level of technical skill, with the athleticism of a hippopotamus.

Melo is for his lack of team accolades is one of the greatest scorers ever, Giroud has nice haircuts.

For me he's a pretty damn good poacher. Gets in great positions and puts them away at a more than acceptable rate. I guess he's not to popular but for me he's well worth the 12 million euros he cost Arsene.
