A North Carolina lottery winner used part of her $188 million jackpot to bail her convict fiancé out of jail — twice.

Lamar (Hot Sauce) McDow, accused of trafficking and intending to sell heroin, was released from a Brunswick County jail last week on $6 million bail.

While bondsmen do not have to release the name of who posted an inmate’s bail, McDow’s Powerball millionaire fiancée, Marie Holmes, likely footed the bill. Prosecutors said she bailed him out of jail once before, paying $3 million in March just weeks after she won the lottery, WWAY reported.

McDow, who has a long criminal history including assault and drug possession convictions, was arrested in November following a yearlong investigation into drug trafficking rings. He was charged with trafficking heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin.

While he was behind bars, Holmes won a $188 million Powerball jackpot. She took home $88 million after taxes when she decided to take the lump sum.

While holding a giant check at a Powerball press conference, she told local media she wanted to use the cash to finish college and set up tuition funds for her four children.

The single mom said was forced to quit her jobs at Walmart and McDonald’s because she needed to take care of her kids full time. One of her sons has cerebral palsy, she said.

“This is all for them,” she said of her children. “All the struggle I ever went through, it’s all for them. Money doesn’t change it, but money’s going to help me.”

Holmes also said she planned to give some of her winnings to her church and donate to cerebral palsy organizations, the Wilmington Star News reported.

Weeks after her windfall, she paid $3 million to bail her beau out of jail.

But McDow was arrested again in July for violating the curfew requirements put in place after his release. He again walked away from jail Aug. 5 after posting a $6 million bail.

Holmes took to Facebook to defend her spending habits.

“What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how? And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though,” she posted on WWAY’s Facebook page.

It’s not clear if Holmes has spent any of the cash on her kids or her church as she originally promised.

McDow is still awaiting trial. He is now wearing a GPS tracker.[

Marie Holmes, the $188 million Powerball lottery jackpot winner from February’s drawing, has spent millions on bailing her boyfriend out of jail. She’s been in trouble since winning all that money in spite of her intentions to put the money to good use. When she first won the jackpot, she said she wanted to be sure that her children never had to worry about their futures, donate some to charity, and find a nice home somewhere.

Since that time, Holmes has been discovered to be living in a trailer and trying to rescue her felon boyfriend, Lamarr McDow. The Inquisitr has covered several stories regarding this, in which Marie Holmes was charged — along with several others — of drug possession when authorities were on a search for McDow.

In the latest news to hit the internet, Holmes has reportedly spent $9 million total in getting McDow out of jail, Madam Noir reports.

According to WWAY TV 3, Holmes posted a comment on her Facebook page to critics after Lamarr McDow was released.

“What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefiting Y’all how? And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though.”

McDow is known for the street name “Hot Sauce.” He was among one of three suspects arrested in November 2014 after a year-long investigation. His several charges include “trafficking heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin.”

Marie Holmes’ boyfriend was the center of an investigation after law enforcement discovered over 8,000 bags of heroin in the Shallotte area.

McDow has been convicted of assaulting a female, assault, and numerous counts of drug possession going back as far as 2000.

Holmes’ boyfriend was released after she paid an additional $6 million to get him released. He was taken into police custody on July 23 for violating jail curfew. He’s now wearing a GPS monitoring device.

The Powerball lottery winner paid the $3 million bail back in March, just weeks after she won her portion of the Powerball jackpot. Many are disappointed that a young single mother with four children — and one having Cerebral Palsy — would spend this kind of money on a criminal she’s also romantically involved with. People are outraged that she’s been given a second chance, only to seemingly screw it all up. Prior to winning the lottery, Marie Holmes was working two jobs; one at Walmart and another at McDonald’s. She had to work a lot in order to take care of her children.

A fool and their money soon parted. Gotta feel for the kids who have a birdbrain for a mother.

She won $188M and she only took home $88? Uncle Sam took $100M??

Brah I had to look up the tax situation. I was under the impression that you only loose 30-40% to tax...

It's really 10% of the posted amount, correct?

And apparently selling heroin is worse than killing 9 Black people in a church.

Did a quick google search and apparently federal tax can be as high as 39% and depending on the state, there could be a state tax.

I'm not even mad at this, dude didn't go to jail for a violent act. Kudos to her

Wait she bailed him out that much I get but isn't son just going back to jail regardless since it seems it's a clear cut case that he's guilty?

I don't even feel bad for her she should be allowed to spend her money and give it back to the Government as she pleases but man I want to hope for just one second she stops and says let me set a side at least 5-10 mill for each of my kids and let the interest grow on that.

That's her dude. Some of your spend a higher percentage of your paychecks on girls you won't ever see again.

That is her dude. What is the issue?
