It isnt all about GETTING top tier QB talent. Is it hard to recruit top flight QBs from the deep south where dudes a re facing monster high school defenses and don't have the same kind of 7 on 7s and passing camps Texas and the west have, sure, but they're still pulling 4 and 5 star kids. I'd argue it has more to do with the coaches at a lot of those SEC schools just failing to develop QB recruits and relying on transfers and running games.

The Minnesota Gophers have the worst red zone offense in all of CFB right now, scoring on 50% of their trips to the red zone.
The Gophers secondary was ranked first through the season's first 3 games in Phil Steele's rankings (future NFL'er Eric Murray, future NFL'er Briean Boddy-Calhoun, Antonio Johnson, Jalen Myrick, etc.), one spot ahead of second-place Ohio State.
Minnesota's last game? 10-7 win over Kent State in which the ONLY points Kent State scored was on a 80-yard fumble recovery.... :x
The Gophers defense didn't allow them to cross the 50 until the fourth quarter. They held TCU to 23 points on Sept. 3rd.
This team would have played Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship back-to-back years ('14 and this year) had they had a decent QB.
