OFFICIAL 2015-2016 College Football Season Thread

It's a start at least.

O'leary stepped down as AD! :pimp:

Now next announcement should be him retiring. I would cry of happiness.

Sark is terminated. Hope he gets some help

"After careful consideration of what is in the best interest of the university and our student-athletes, I have made the decision to terminate Steve Sarkisian, effective immediately.

"I want to thank Clay Helton for stepping into the interim head coach role, and I want to add how proud I am of our coaching staff and players and the way they are responding to this difficult situation.

"Through all of this we remain concerned for Steve and hope that it will give him the opportunity to focus on his personal well being."

Concerned not but not concerned when he was hired and had these same problems.

Guess it just took for things to spill over for them to make a decision

Nike Still Sux Nike Still Sux what's with this loud rumbling about Nebraska fans (boosters?) calling for a new coach already?

Impatient delusional people who are stuck in the 90's. But truthfully the decisions he has made cost us at least 3 losses. We have to give him another year tho unless the wheels completely fall off this season

Thought they couldn't make that move due to the MLA but I guess the lawyers did what lawyers do ..

From the leaks to the media to now firing him after a LOA, this doesn't look good.
At least you had a great decade, right? @Nako XL
I'll take the bait...
USC came to Strawberry Canyon and lost a 3OT thriller to Cal that featured everything from missed field goals to fumbles on the goal line. It was an epic clash, a prototype for a Pac-10 shootout, the kind of game East Coast sportswriters miss after falling asleep when the Yankee game ends. USC went on to win the infamous “split” national title that year and all eyes turned to Cal’s 2004 visit to the Coliseum.

That game came down to fourth and goal. Cal had the ball nine yards away from the USC goal line and after three failed attempts to score, then-quarterback Aaron Rodgers let a pass sail into the end zone and the game ended with a Trojan defensive stop. USC went on to win the BCS National Championship that year. Cleanup crews are still finding pieces of the Oklahoma Sooners in the turf of the Orange Bowl.

And that’s where the “rivalry” ended. USC has beaten Cal in seven of their eight meetings since the Tedford era began. Like Westlake High feels about my poor Agoura Chargers, USC feels about Cal- it’s not a rivalry. In fact, the thing USC seems to hate most about Cal is the visitor’s locker room at Memorial Stadium.
That article was written in 2009. 6 years later the article is even more appropriate than ever.

Since that article was written Cal has lost the last 6 contests by an average of 24 points. Calling them contests is almost laughable.

The Cal football program is irrelevant. No matter how much of a dumpster fire USC is, it will always be more relevant, no, better than any California Golden Bears team. Since USC last lost to Cal they've won 2 national titles and played for a third. In that time Cal has won 10 games twice. In those seasons theyre 1-1 in Holiday Bowls.

Until they were shellacked last weekend Cal was 5-0, with the top QB prospect in the country leading them into a matchup of the only two undefeated teams in the conference. All eyes should have been on Cal. At 10pm on Saturday all anyone should have been talking, tweeting, thinking, about was Cal v. Utah.

But nah. You were in here posting about USC. @'ing me about Sarkisian. You didn't even add that California football line to your sig until after you heard Sark was fired.

I think that says all there is to say about your garbage *** football program and you.

You think I take this personally, or somehow I'm getting irked by your posts. Nah. Your team is trash. Your jokes are trash. We could be 3-4 with the entire coaching staff drunk off that sark liquor and we'd probably still wash you by 24. Because your team isn't good. They'll never be good. And after Goff goes pro this year you'll revert to being the 5 win team you've been for most of the past decade because your garbage coach hasn't recruited any QBs behind him.

Now I'm gonna hit the block button like I shoulda when your troll *** popped up in this thread. Enough clowns with actual football knowledge in here for me to be wasting time with you.
